Paradorn Vs Roddick Queens Qrts...

This should be a good match. If ever there was someone who could trouble Roddick in his half of the draw it would be Ancic and Schricipan. Ancic stretched Roddick to 3 sets, I wonder what Paradorn will do.

By the way I have never seen Pdorn on grass, I assume he is good, looking at his Wimbledon results. My question is why is he good on grass. THe last few times I have seen him was on hard courts, and his serve is nothing special...

He has his days every now and then when his shots decide to go in the court. On those days, he can hit with just about anyone. If I recall (and I haven't seen him play in about a year, so I could be wrong), he has a nice serve that sets up the points for him, a big forehand and one-handed backhand, and sometimes he uses a backhand slice that is effective on grass. He is terribly streaky, though.

This should be a fun, close match like some of their past battles. I think they have a pretty even H2H, no?

3-1 Andy, P-Dorn won on carpet at the end of 2002, I forget where. Andy won their first meeting in like 2001ish and he won both their meetings last summer at Wimby (in 4) and Indianapolis (straight sets), so he's beaten him on grass. Paradorn can certainly give Andy trouble, plus it's still kinda hard to tell what Andy's form is like right now (then again Paradorn hsn't exactly been having the best year of his life either). Yep, it could be a good one :) I think they're pals too, haven't they played a little dubs together?

bunkie ;), you're going to LA?

Oh yes, they had a good match at Wimbledon last year in the fourth round. They split the first two sets. The third set was close and both players had chances early on but it was Roddick who capitalized first and then ran away with the match.

:haha: Yeah I'm going to law school there, I'll move early August. I just got back from a school-visiting, apartment-hunting trip :) I'm psyched!

Anyway, I know I saw their Wimby match last summer, but I don't remember it at all. Unless I watch a match a second time I forget everything lmfao. In any case, on paper I'd say Andy's the favorite but Paradorn's great when he wants to be. For what (nothing) it's worth, the betting sites have it relatively close.

Srichaphan will lose in two sets in a match where Andy has won, at 6-3, 4-2, 49% of receiving points!! Too Bad Paradorn...

6-3, 6-3. Sounds like Roddick was returning well. And once again, Paradorn falls short against a top player. Remember in 2002, he was making upsets all over the place...

According to the Eurosport commentary, P-Dorn didn't serve too well. Considering how much better Andy's return is this year, it's not a surprise then that it was his "easiest" win over him. And they made it sound like Andy was hitting his passing shots well and doing some s-v of his own so yea... too bad it wasn't a little more exciting though :(

Andy just destroyed PDorn out there.

The Lleyton match will be a lot more interesting.

Ugh...very average match from Paradorn. He seemed to be having problems with his wrist; however much it was affecting him, the game he brought out today was never going to be enough to compete with Roddick. And Roddick himself was playing some very loose points at times. Shame, I was hoping for a more entertaining contest.
