It's good that he is playing there, I wonder what level of respect will they show for the French Open Champ?

Anyway, vamos Gaston, if he could win a match it would be cool.

Gaudio's entry ranking should be in top 10, right? Wimbleton can't push him out of top 16, can they?

They will do their best, don't worry about that. He will probably be #16th.

I don't think Gaudio will be bothered and I doubt his chance in Wimbleton. I still cringe everytime I watch him serve.

btw, I watched his match vs Nalbandian again last night. :) Unfortunately, technical error ruined my tape for his final vs Coria. :(

I hope Gato just enjoy it. Don't put much pressure on himself.

There s not be any pressure on nuestro Gato at Wimby so he s just go and play. I have NO idea how he's done there... what's his history, if any?

The only match he has won at Wimbledon was against Guzman in 2002 and he lost to Youzhny in 5 sets in the next round and he has lost to Canas in 5 sets there as well.

Hopefully they show him on the grass, I think it would be funny if he won a match or 2 matches would be even better.

I just read in David's forum that David and Gato will probably play in an exhibition next wednesday, any news on that?

George, he's better than Guille on grass then.

W that be Stoke Poges, Chelsea?? Boodle and Dunthorne exo?? Is Nalby well enough to play? Where is he anyway? In ARG or floating around Europe somewhere [well, not exactly floating... more like bobbing or trundling along or sth like that]?

Nalle is in Barcelona at the moment. I think Gato is still in Argentina and probably won't be back until the middle of next week in Europe.

I am not sure where they will play, if they play that is.

Hi RogiFan, I have no idea where the exhibition is either. Wish I know spanish :) David is still recovering, but will most likely play Wimbledon.

Did you see sth in an article I posted or sth more recent, Chelsea? I haven't even had time to catch up on all those articles I posted... how silly is that?!

Nalby often goes to Barca, doesn't he? For medical treatment, etc. He isn't a friend of Carlos is he? That's where Carlos probably is now, practising on grass... not sure where exactly... maybe at CAR.

Nalle is in Barcelona for treatment, well the same doc looked after Guga and Moya, and he likes the city that's why he is there.

I haven't read anything in an article, I read about it in Nalbandian's forum here on MTF. jazz_girl said she got the news from Clarin, so ...

I tried to read the spanish articles with the help of translation sites, but it was too hard for me to understand, so I gave up :o

The exhibition is called THE BOODLE & DUNTHORNE CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE. Moya and Nalbandian are some the players mentioned on their website, but I didn't see Gato's name there.

So you posted the articles for others to read even while you don't have time to read them :) That was nice of you, RogiFan :)

I'll have to check Nalby's forum or El Clarin then. Yeah, so many articles, so little time, so many cute players to follow... my main prob is that I like Rogi but his articles are mostly in German, which I do not understand but can pick out a few words/phrases here and there...

Just posted an article from Gato's hometown in the interview thread with the caveman translation.

Caveman translation... I like that! Gracias, Jorge!

I see the Clarin article on Nalby -- says he's resting in Barca and his Dad says he needs a week's recuperation -- he's not feeling any pain now -- he'll go to Wimby next week and hopes to be fit enough to play!

Calleri is iffy and Zabaleta definitely not playing w tendonitis.

Gotta EAT some curry! Hasta luego, chicos y chicas!

RF, I mentioned that in the Wimbledon withdrawl thread as long as the man is there that is good, he needs to be at his best in Båstad.

It seems that Gaston has a heel problem and the shoulder is a bit sore from playing too much recent tennis so he might not play Wimbledon.

He should go and eat a big Argentine steak rest then go over and continue on the summer round of the claycourt season.

Rasklovn, I just saw an article about that in La Nación Line. Seems the heel problem was caused by the type of shoes he was wearing during RG. Hope the heel and shoulder will heal quickly!

It's a shame if he can't be in Wimby.

Rest up well and get better soon Gaudio!

Why say that! It's normal that a tennisman has injuries. I think it's a shame if he goes to wimbly regardless his injury just because he is the new born champion of Roland Garros.
To be a fan of Gaston, I think the most important thing is his health and happiness, then other things.

That's not Liz meant in her post. The sentence means more like it's unfortunate for the tournament without Gaudio, the RG champion, playing.

come on, faraway, don't be so sensitive to the sentence, although i know you are always defending Gato much;) BTW it sounds quite reasonable after a champion of GS that he could get some good rest, especially when facing his dislike grass surface. But still think he would attend, if his kneel has no problem and no other injuries at all.
BTW, i am also not sure about that exhibition game, coz david has some injury problem as well, so first not the game, is the recovering practice.
seems so many argentines have the injury problem, and then withdraw some big tournaments, what's the hell going on?
