OK, since we've derailed just about every thread on here, let's just make a thread where we say whatever is on our minds.

Right now, I am trying to unwind after a long day of work and class, so it's almost time to go to bed and look forward to another day. :)

Sounds nice to start this thread...

My mind is full of David, but as he won't play wimbledon, I can rest my mind for a while...

Sorry I just made a mistake! I thought David wouldn't play Wimby, but now things look to be straightened out!!!! Then I have something to do now...

Well if I REALLY wrote what is on my mind half the time, I would probably get arrested or banned from the Board :p - so let's just stick with - it's 6.30am - I have to go to work now and I really don't want to go  - can think of much better places to be and people to be with - how about Barcelona???

Oh - and the Rodducks (and most of the Coria fans) really, really, REALLY wind me up!!!!

Love this thread Sigma!!!!

I totally forgot about my goofy signature until Howlman made that thread about peanut butter and bagels. Then i got wondering... when on earth did I do this, and what on earth inspired? I'll never remember, but it's stuck.

They don't wind me up; I wind THEM up. You should have been here on Sun. I bashed every Coria and Andy fan in sight; handed out bad-reps; got a post reported; and generally typed until my hands turned different colors.

And keep it stuck. I wonder if there's a way to import those threads to this forum, so that when they post on them in GM, they also post here. Sorry, that would be mean-spirited, and I don't want to be that....

Yes, rain is wet that was a great analysis that Roddick's game is about brutality, well Mutis showed him up for the chump that he is.

You know that actor Yul Brynner had more hair on his head than Roddick has claycourt ability.

I agree- I hate games that are pure power. Snoozy- and this is the type of play that the writers are always complaining about and stupidly classify all tennis as a power game.

Question:
I don't understand what's going on, but each time I post a message the time that appears on it is an hour before, and if the hour that the post before me mine was later my message appears before hers/his even though I posted it later...Does it make sense??? It's very hard to explain and to understand to! But has it happened to you before? Do you know how to fix it???

novanora
06-12-2004, 10:42 PM
well, jazz, i think the forum has it's own time system, but i don't know which time zone is the standarzied one. i think it's much nearer to yours than mine, coz everytime i posted, the time that appears is quite far from mine, think it's more than 10 hours~~not like you, only one hour.
coz i always has the time jetlag problem, so i never mind it, and it seems every posts here can be shown in time at once, that's enough;)

oh, forget to give a greeting:"good morning, every one!" it's 6:30 a.m. here, and you can compared the time with the one shown on my post.

OK - hope there aren't any Duck fans over here - because my contribution today is "I hate Andy Roddick and his boring style of play!". Just got home from work - watching Queens' Club tournament on TV, and Duckboy has just served the fastest serve ever    All our commentators could say was "Roddick's game is all about brutality - not skill" :p - and I agree with them! Bring back the clay - soon - please!!!

Hope you feel better George!

Rebecca- don't feel bad if you get you study mojo later in the day. Some people just more alert later in the day. I myself am a smarter-later-in the day person. BTW- what are you studying for in the summer?
I'm taking 5 courses. Three in psychology: Intellectual Disabilities, Organization Pyschology, and Psychological measurement. Also, I'm taking the second part of an intro stats course so that I can take more stats courses next year. I'm also doing a research thingy for my prof, which is considered a course. All I do is pump stuff into a spreadsheet and write some BS paper about what I learned later. Whatever.. I'm only doing it so that i can use her as a reference to get into grad school ;)

There are too many to mention Fedex - Duckboy is not universally popular here. How about let's start with John Lloyd, Sue Barker, Chris Bailey, Barry Cowan, Mark Petchey :p

And my "say what's on your mind" today.... our good friend tangerine dream is over at the GM "say what's on your mind" thread talking about football - she know's NOTHING - NOTHING   She should stick to what she knows about - tennis - though not sure a Duck fan knows that much about that subject either!!!! I love it all this rain at Wimbledon is quality. I have got what I wanted and I am happy about that, even then I have seen too much grasscourt tennis.

Got a friend down to visit me, the silly clown is getting married, so he is going to enjoy his last fruits of freedom.

The football results were great, I just hope the Czech Republic can win the title, it would piss me off no end, if England or France won.

The best thing about the rain, plenty of players that I like are not even less interest than usual.

How beautiful seeing Duckboy trying his best and he came up short against Federer who was not at his best.
:haha: :haha: And yet they call this a rivalry. What about that intersting one we have between Federer & Nalbandian?

When you get over there, tell her to come over here and trash David, but I see she's not woman enough. She's content to do it from a distance, and when someone calls her on her immaturity and stupidity, she runs for cover in the Andy forum and hopes like hell that the other members of DuckNation will protect her. It's high-time that someone flushes her out of hiding, and give her an overdue ass-whupping. Let it be me, OK....

And another question: Why did the other Federer fans let her get away with that? You all should have let her know that trashing other players in that forum is not allowed. Here, we would not have allowed it-which is why, the first time she came over here looking for trouble, she left. She was caught before she started.

Sorry to hear that the Orange Nightmare is causing you problems on Roger's forum. Of all the posters on MTF she is the one that annoys me the most - if you don't like a player, - why go amongst his fans to trash him - leave Fan Forums for real fans of that player - don't go out of your way to cause trouble. You wouldn't catch me within 3 metres of DuckNation as Sigma calls it  It's just immature and troll-ish behaviour - and she is the biggest troll of all  So you take refuge over here as much and as long as you like :)

She doesn't annoy me; she actually makes me laugh because, of all the DuckNation, she obviously is very immature and stupid-and can't admit it. Her fellow fans even had to pm her about her antics, which hasn't done much to stop her. Of all the people on here, she has nothing better to do than bait fans and talk trash. I posted it in the Yahoo group, and I wasn't gonna post it here, but then I thought you'd like to read it:
Hi guys!
There was a really long interview on tv today in which david talked
for an hour and a half about everything!
The interview was in a park in Unquillo, it was a barbacue and David
arrived in his rally car. He said that he loves the rally world
although he's not ready to participate in a race. He's been loving
the rally even before he saw a raquet. That his dad hates this things
and that they usually argue about it, although his mom defends him.
Mainly because nothing can scare her nowadays. Rally is just a hobby
and he started playing tennis cause it was his passion, and he still
enjoys it now.
He also said that he started playing tennis because of Becker, he was
the main reason. He started watching tennis when Becker won his first
GS and he was hooked ever since. His family and some friends started
building a tennis court when he was very little but no one wanted to
play with him, but he insisted so much that his brother Javier tought
him. He also said that Dario sucks! LOL Dario was there and he
laughed a lot.
Tennis was a huge sacrifice in his career, he had to leave school
when he was 15, although his parents didn't want him to. But he
didn't have much time to study and out of 14 subject he didn't pass
12. Do he dropped out. He played his first tournament in Cordoba when
he was 8 and the lost the final, the same thing happened in his
second tournament and with the same kid. He wanted the revange but
never saw that kid again.
Tennis was a huge sacrifice and is very thankful to his family for
all the support and he kept mentioning that his brother Javier was
always with him.
He doesn't like Buenos Aires too much, when he gets to Argentina
first he goes to Unquillo and then to Bs As, that city is too fast
for him. When he travels he misses his family, friends, cars...
When he's not playing tennis he misses it, especially if he's out
because of injury, like it happened in Wimbledon. He followed it on
tv, but it was hard.
He said the right decision not playing in Wimbledon, because after
that exhibition he knew he couldn't play. The key is to choose the
right tournaments to play, although it's still very hard. Especially
because of doping. He must be terrible careful, if he has a cold he
has to call the tournament doctor first, and if everything is ok he
can take an aspirin. It's too hard.
His training now is: gym in the morning, then 45 minutes of aerobic
gym, a little rest, 1 hour running, 1 hour of tennis. He says that he
really hates running, it's the worst for him and always asks
Trevisian not to run without any success and that he prefers not eat
at all than having to run. He's doing a diet now, although is not too
strict.
He never watches his matches, he doesn't like it at all. He did it
when he was a kid, and maybe now but just in especific points.
He misses the old days when he was a kid and played in a team to
represent Cordoba, a lot of families travelled with him and he won
several times there.
He realized he could do big things when he was 12 and went to Miami
with Coria to play the Orange Bowl. They went there without speaking
the language and they were totally lost.
His first goal was to be among the best 100, then 50, 20, 10 and that
now it's obvious what he wants. He knows that it's possible and he
wants it.
Federer: he's a great player and the reason he could beat him so many
times was that his backhand wasn't that good and David always tried
to make him use it. He has improved a lot, but he's beatable. He says
that many players are scared of him and that's why they don't play at
their best when they're facing Roger. He has a very strong mind.
Roddick: He's a cheater (and laughed) no one wants to play him nor
Agassi in the US because every close call goes to them and it's not
fair. He also said that Roddick never said hello to him and was one
of the worst people in the circuit along with Hewitt and Kafelnikov.
But now Roddick at least says hi to him.
His best friends in the tour, apart from Guille are Younes and the
Spaniards like Moya and Ferrero.
His funniest memory is when Mercedes Benz lent Safin a car and he
took David to a ride, Marat crashed the car and made a HUGE argument
with the Mercedes people, it was hilarious.
He says that he does have a girlfriend, that she's from near there
(he meant from Cordoba).
It's very hard to have friends in the circuit, although Guille is his
closest friend. They've played like 50 matches against each other,
and it's even. he's excited about playing the Olympics with him and
although they haven't practsied he knows that if they play a couple
of matches everything will be fine cause they know each other too
well.
His favourite surface is hard, he doesn't like grass that much, and
clay is his least favourite. The GS he wanst to win the most is
Wimbledon, then the US Open and there's a tie between RG and
Australia. he can't understand why Henman didn't win Wimbledon
already, and he was surprised to see Gaudio winning RG but he's sure
he deserved it.
He's 100% sure he'll play Houston and he totally counts on that.
He says that his style is very similar to Agassi's although the goes
to the net more often. he's trying to improve his service and trying
to attack more.
He loved his armeninan grandfather because he gave it all for him.
The most difficult player for him to face is Hewitt, although it does
varies from surface to surface.
he usually doesn't hear when people cheers for him cause he's very
focused, although he does in the DC, and he's sure Argentina will win
it several times.
He'll follow football, jose meolans and the female hockey in the
Olympics, although he knows he'll have to be very concentrated.

But you are a nice porteno though :) I have only lived in a large city for about 3 years of my life and that was very hard work, but I was there for a reason and I tried everything I could to get away from it.

Then again I am lucky I am from a smaller place, and that's why I can understand why David thinks like that about B.A.

Yes, the reputation is famous among Argentines, people in South America and travellers. I know these 2 guys who are best of friends one is from Patagonia and the other one a porteno, and the arguments they had in English were funny enough, let alone in Spanish.

You are a nice portena though.

Becca, enjoy the Toronto tournament and take some pics. I think you are right David is the kind of guy they wouldn't give him a centre court match unless he was playing a Canadian in the 1st round.

Well I am a happy guy, they got rid of a nasty troll in the Gaudio forum, the brain surgery one.

I don't have a problem with debating anyone at all on tennis topics, that includes fans of players I don't like, but going into a fan forum and deliberately trying to stir it up without backing up their points and just being abusive, that's not cool.

I was called a terrorist-among other names-by certain posters when I asked them to back up their points, and they couldn't.

The feeling of love is all around us, as I said if people I disagree with can back their points up, that's great, but too many can't bring it to the table and I am not just talking about the orange one either.
