Will Joe's Run in Adelaide come to a halt in the quarter finals or will he do better?

Well we'll find out in about half an hour, I really hope he beat PHM then they would have to give him that last Wildcard surely.

Well Joe is into the semi finals after beating Mathieu 1-6 6-1 7-6(6). He got special exempt to play Sydney main draw directly...along with Hewitt, Luczak, Guccione and Greg Jones. He has already been given an AO Wildcard

It's really all working out for Joe, I've been making estimations of where his ranking will go to after this week and if he wins Adelaide 111, Runner up 132, Semifinalist 148.

I hope him well in Sydney and the Australian Open, at this rate he may even get direct entry into Indian Wells and Miami. Who knows he might even get chosen for Davis Cup.

This is the only place I could find to post Joe results, Joe's gone through qualifying in Dubai and has already gained 10 points this week which is great for his confidence seeing as he'll being playing Indian Wells qualies next week.

He has got a nice draw for the furth challenger. If he can hold his form he should be looking at a quater final at least.

His match record on grass is not bad at all, which he proved today by winning two good matches in Queens qualifying, and I would make him favourite to win the final qualifying round. He beat Qureshi who is very dangerous on grass and focuses his whole season on it, good win.

He qualified by beating Kubot 7-6(6) in the third set. I think Gonzalez, Safin, Karlovic or Grosjean are not the worst opponents, they have weaknesses which Sirianni may be able to exploit, although he will be the underdog.

Sorry I made a mistake he will not draw Karlovic first round he could draw Bogdanovic (a British wildcard) then he'll play Karlovic if he gets through. I hope he gets drawn against Bogdanovic. But considering his luck he wont.

i would say probably not considering he's got to play wimby qualies, and if he qualifies he won't be able to play so there would be no point

Yes Joe will travel back to Europe and play in a clay court San Marino challenger thats worth 85K, and then I believe a week off and then to Spain to play a 90K challenger. So big chances to earn lots of points in Europe coming up. He would have to go to the US not long after the Spain challenger because the US qualifying starts not long after.

Good luck to him and lets hope the good form continues as heaven only knows that we need to see someone playing well at the moment!

Joe has made the semi quarter finals of the 100K tournament in Joberg South Africa. He plays Fritz Wolmarens for a place in the semis which is definitely winnable as well. What a great tournament choice for him! Good luck Joe.

A shame that he lost but I suppose Zverev on grass in his home country was always going to be a tough task and Zverev did go on to beat Berdych in the next round. I really hope he can qualify for Wimbledon this year. Would love to see him in another slam and he has said before that it is his dream to play a big name on centre court at one of the slams.

Would be a great story if at 34 he could finally make a main draw appearance at Wimbledon and his first GS appearance outside the Aus Open. Was helped by Gregorc’s match going to 16-14 yesterday although he did beat Evans who had won Nottingham the week before. Definitely a winnable match though for Joe.

Some one with guts and balls and a never die attitude... win or loose .... always stands up .... regardless of Australia's Pathetic age discrimination he makes Aussies proud to be Aussies and proud to cheer on Aussies. Joe like no other always gives you hope in any match , thats what tennis to the public is about.

A shame Joe lost in two tiebreaks. A great effort nonetheless. It is a massive shame though that baring a wave of withdrawals that it is unlikely he will be in the Aus Open Qualies.

What is up with Sirianni, if he had of played Ouanna in any other country a future tournamnet or challenger he would have lost but when he plays in Australia he gets good results, i hope he can make the main draw he plays Jan Minar next tough but definitly win able if he plays well.

It would be good to see a repeat of the 2008 AUS OPEN when he had that thriller match against Janko Tipsarevic in the first round, but instead of losing maybe a win would be good, i thought TA made a mistake choosing him over Smeets but maybe they made a good decision we will see tomorrow good luck hope he wins easily.

I love seeing Sirianni win matches. The guy is incredible, reaching his career high at 33 years old and being in the top 600 or so since 1997.

Just like at Wimbledon last year Sirianni lost in the final round of qualifying :(. Ivan Dodig d. Sirianni 7-6 6-2 to reach his first Grand Slam main draw at age 25.

Had a very good chance to take out the first set. Dodig isn't a bad player to lose to and Joe wasn't expected to win today but it is disappointing that he lost. Would have been a great story if he had.

Done! 7-6(1) 6-3. Nice tiebreak from the 35 year old. Tough semi against either Tomic or Zemlja(1). If he plays Tomic he'll be more than twice the age of his opponent!

Where does he play next?

Joe is going to play the Kyoto challenger in Japan from March 8.

Joe got through the first round of the Manta challenger against Ecuadorian wildcard Diego Acosta. No surprises there. Plays Greg in the second round. Would be nice to see him go on a bit of a run here and try and get near the mark for Wimbledon Qualies. Last year the cutoff was 276. Joe at the moment is 325 and 37 points off that and only has two weeks to do it. Might seem unlikely (needs to reach the final or make the semis here and back it up next week) but how many times has he been written off before only to surprise and the draw on his half is quite weak.

Great week for him. Given the points on offer he should be able to play Wimbledon Qualies now which is an outstanding effort considering his position two weeks ago. Not the best way to end the week but Nishikori is a super talented player and hopefully his body can stay together and he won't be playing challengers for much longer as it would be a shame to see such a talented Japanese tennis player go to waste.

Yeah I like most sports but tennis, cycling, motor sport (Formula 1 and IRL)and football (soccer - socceroos and Middlesbrough) would be my favourites. Unfortunately I don't have Foxtel anymore and had to watch the live commentary/scoring instead and couldn't get a stream to work. Good that they won but hard to get a read off it being a friendly. Even harder when you hear conflicting reports like Australia played well/shit or Wilkshire was brilliant/normal or Holman was good/bad. Did you watch it?

Yeah the World Cup is on the anti-siphoning list so it has to be on Free to Air TV so it will be on SBS.

I live in probably Australia's most overrated place the Gold Coast. The only things we have are good beaches, a trainline to Brisbane and hot women although unfortunately a fair few of them of them seem to love visiting the plastic surgeon and getting their annual dose of silicon.

SA seems to be a nice place. Only visited Adelaide and Kangaroo Island but they were enjoyable.

Joe is playing qualies in the Kuala Lumpur ATP tournament where he is into the final round after benefiting from a bye in the first round and then defeated doubles specialist Johan Brunstrom in the second round 64 64. He will take on Laurent Recouderc for a spot in the MD.

I'm not sure if he plans to go around again for another year and obviously TA didn't put him in the wildcard playoff and I don't reckon they'll give him a qualies wildcard either. Depends if he's up for another year grinding it out on the tour - if the passion is still there he'll go for it.
