Hi everyone.

Look at this kid. I am sure you have already heard of him. His name is jan silva (US) and he trains in France at mouratoglou tennis academy.

I think it is ridiculous to claim that a kid will be the next sampras or federer but this kid might well become a great player. When you see how he moves and hits his forehands and (one hand!!!) backhands at only 6 years old!

Have a look and tell what you think! :)

I saw some of his clips before, and the kid is fascinating; but allready his parents are finding him sponsors, making big contracts, he is famous at the age of 6, this media pressure is not a good thing and it can destroy him......

Yes, i agree with you. For him it's not good thing.
A lot of young tennis guns were in the same situations and later they can't confirm their capabilities.
Media could exert a bad and too big influance to him.

Look for Jean-Carlos Chera - The same case but he's playing football.

It is too early to tell if he will be 'great'. For all we know, he is a tot with above average hand to eye coordination who can get the ball back to whomever is feeding him. I did see a clip where a news anchor was feeding him balls and one of the balls hit him. Very telling, I would have thought he would have blocked it with the racquet, but he didn't. I would have expected the anticipation to be there.

Yeah it's way to early to say, so what if he trained at mouratoglou tennis academy. When I go during the summer I never seen this kid until I heard about him on the news.

It's getting crazier and crazier, really. I think most people here are familiar with Donald Young and his situation. He has been hyped ever since he was 12, or even younger, and it doesn't seem to have affected his development positively. He is now a top 100 player, yes, but looking at his match against Nadal at Indian Wells, he has a long way to go before he can be the next "Federer-beater". Unfortunately this situation is symbolic for one of the newer phenomenons in sports: over-hyping.
