Okay, I did a search and couldn't find a similar thread so if there already is one then sorry and just merge them.

The last movie I saw was I Am Legend. It was pretty good although I thought the infected mutants (or whatever they were) didn't look real enough.

I just saw Alvin and the Chipmunks, and all I have to say is :worship: Totally what I expected. I was such a big fan of them growing up. They were totally my thing. Some kids had Superman, Furby, or Barbie.. I had Alvin and the Chipmunks. I had the biggest crush on Simon, and I pretended I was Jeannette. It was such a cute movie. I literally could not stop moving the entire movie. I knew I was gonna love it when they started the movie singing Daniel Powter's Bad Day. :D

No, I've heard that more than once. Might watch it in a few years when it comes on cable. In terms of comedies, Knocked Up and the Simpsons was hilarious. :haha: I also heard Superbad was just as good, but I haven't seen it yet.

I was so excited when I saw they were bringing them back as a movie because hopefully they will bring the cartoons back to TV :D and then my 4 year old niece can grow up with them too

The Great Debaters.

In the moment, one gets caught up and sucked in and the film seems good.

But afterwards I found myself wondering how come the debating group ALWAYS got to argue the right side of the issue? Where was the female student's chaperone? And who would put a 14 year old to argue against a team from Harvard when he had bombed miserably just a week or so before the one and only time he debated -- and that was against Howard University? And how the heck did Denzel get to Boston when he was legally banned from leaving the state? And those are just a few of the improbabilities.

Nice feel good movie in the moment. But not too realistic. Which means it will probably win 5 Academy Awards.

I saw 'The Motorcycle Diaries' last night, and I loved it to bits. It was so inspiring, and I actually went out today and bought the book. Che Guevara is one of my heroes, and I thought that just such a simple act of travelling can not only establish friendships, but open your eyes up to the world. In Che's case, also to poverty, suffering, and class differences. I knew about Che's future endeavours, but I hadn't known too much about his trip through Latin America. It also was fairly comical in parts. Fantastic movie, highly recommended for history buffs:)

 You're not serious? Gael Garcia Bernal is my favourite actor of all time, I own almost every movie he's ever starred in. Don't be fooled by the romanticization of Guevara's life, it's not all it's cracked up to be, but he's still an inspirational figure for me.

Golden Compass-
I didn't know what to expect, and it started out very well. Then the story lost its way, I don't know if it was the adaption because I've never read the novels, but it was almost laughable in parts. Huge disappointment.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind-
Really touching story. Gondry is a genious, and I also recommend The Science of Sleep (again with Gael Garcia Bernal ). I feel like this was the safer film of the two having almost assured success, with The Science of Sleep being it's more risk weighted successor. It's the kind of film that requires patience and attention to detail, if you blink you might miss everything.

No Country For Old Men

Good, but not great, It made a few odd choices about how it would pull itself into the final stretch. Felt like 2 parts movie and 1 part epilogue that didn't quite put a decent full stop on the whole affair.

Earlier this week I saw National Treasure 2-it was a good action-adventure. Lots of "holes" in the story IMO but it was suitable for the whole family and entertaining as long as you don't ask too many questions.

Saw "Juno" today. Very good-very realisitc take on teenage pregnancy. Sweet, funny yet poignant.

Went to "P.S. I Love You" a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The story was a bit cliche I suppose but the cast was great and Ireland was beautiful. :yeah: ( And I LOVE Gerard Butler  )

2 opposite feelings: good movie (plot, music, how is it tale, directed), bad person (Tarantino, too much explicit/overrated violence/drugs/deaths/maffia/violations/etc unnecesary, and I may like movies which shows the worst of the humankind)

Atonement - an okay movie...nothing special imo

Eastern Promises - well, after seeing Charlie Wilson's war the day before and hearing the line "lets kill Russians" 27 times, seeing the first few minuts of this movie and hearing the line "kill this Russian" while they very graphically show you throat cutting, made me burst out laughing in disbelief which probably puzzled the ppl around me...with that said i don't really know what to say about this movie...Vigo was great, Vincent Cassel too...
If you're a woman and a Vigo fanatics, you should see it cause of the solid 3 minute naked fight scene ;)

Juno. Cute movie, but with the worst soundtrack EVER. : puke :

Not entirely true. "A Well Respected Man" by the Kinks was in the beginning--that's an all time classic.

Had a down week last week so got a bit caught up.

Juno- great flick, highly recommend.

10 000 bc - got thrashed in reviews but f it I found it entertaining. Mindless but enjoyable all the same.

Vantage point - might be the worst movie I've seen this year and going into last year as well. Give your money to charity instead of a movie theatre you'll feel better about how you spent the money

Definitely Maybe

Ok-ish. But the experience was completely destroyed by about 10-15 13 year-old shrieking popcorn-throwing brats in front of me.

I hate multiplexes. Next time I'll be going to the arthouse cinema :fiery:

Cinema: The Eye, with Jessica Alba. Stared at the seat in front of me a lot for the first hour.

At Home: 2:37 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MNOGl757v4) I don't know if it's because I watched it after midnight, but this film was fascinating. Deals with very serious [teen issues] subject matter
