The Social Network. Well written, great dialogues, but pretty much every character is a douche, except one. The next Spider Man is a better actor than the last one.

And Inception, again.

Salt - Very cool action movie, did not expect to be what is was.

The Town - Also good, but given the reviews I found it to be a little overrated, but heck, being a Ben Afleck film, it was his best, I'd say.

The Road- With one of my favorite actors Vigo Mortenssen, it was interesting, but way too depressing.

Tangled with my 2 yr old nephew, and surprisingly he behaved marvelously on his first visit to the movie theather. It was sappy and dandy, not really for two year olds, more like pg 12.

True Grit, I thought there was very fine acting and Damon never disappoints me. He's one of my fav actors. The closing scenes were a bit unexpected or rather mundane, nonetheless I thought it was more than decent with good acting.

Yep, but he should've smashed the whole office.

I wonder how much he got in "undisclosed" compensation. I read the twins have sued a second time given the company's spectacular revalorization since they got the $ 65 mill.

Hostel - further validates that red light district is the most delightful place in the world. while eastern europe only has it brief moments.

The Bucket list - while hostel is under the horror genre. this should have been put there instead, even in knowing beforehand that jack nicholson might be dying in this film... he still creeps me out :(

Drag me to hell- moral of the story is too never mess with gypsies. all kitty cats involved should win oscars for cuteness.

The Brothers Grimm - great fairtale concept but poor execution.

Breakfast at Tiffany's - i was under the impression this was film was about audrey hepburn making people breakfast. instead it portraits a crazy bitch that horrible to cats :(.

The Descent- great score, overall great suspense. i didn't expect to enjoy that much :)

The Lives of Others [Germany/2007] - One of my favourite films of all time; Mühe was goosebumpingly good at his role - the littlest of expressions on his face when the camera zoomed in showed so much that words would have never been able to describe. The ending was great too without being cliche.

The Secret in Their Eyes [Argentina/2009] - Been wanting to watch this for over a year and finally got round to it. Thoroughly enjoyed it and that twist in the final scenes only added to the brilliance of the film.

Grbavica [Bosnia and Herzegovina/2006] - Expected a bit more to be honest but the story was gripping nevertheless.

I'm in too :rocker2: Only leave the crocs at home and my family has to be allowed to come too :p

Jane Eyre. Surprisingly good rendering. But then again, it's BBC Films. Excellent acting by all, gothic elements very much intact, beautifully shot. And the presence of Judi Dench as the housekeeper with a wary eye to ground the whole production. Highly recommend this movie for fans of the book.

Incendies.
This was one of the 5 foreign language movies nominated this year at the Oscars. It's a knockout. See it.

Watched this yesterday, thanks for the recommendation. Never expected that. So sad but to see that she lived with it and tried to move on was uplifting as well. Suddenly it all made sense at the end; at first I was confused at the 1+1=1 comment.

It brought back painful stories that my grandmother used to tell me about the civil war too, especially with the bus scene and the daughter running back to her mother only to be shot.

I loved Lubna Azabal's performance. She was great in Paradise Now too but her role was small there. This time she really got the screen time to shine. She was perfect apart from the accent, a lot of Moroccan pronunciations of words that I sometimes found hard to ignore. But it was only a minor mark on a major performance.

The twist at the end was both horrific and an icing to the cake.

How was that ever a play?

Yeah, I was wondering that too. What the hell?

i was in the mood for comedy, so the current four fit in this category.

Hobo with a Shotgun - kind of disappointing, it wasn't funny as machete or planet terror.

City Island - dysfunctional guido family

Synecdoche, New York - mental exercise with offbeat humour.

Roger Dodger - insight into male and female ego exposed through picking up.

Procrastinating with Ricardo Darín: Nueve Reinas, XXY and Carancho. (Listed in order of preference. Carancho was a real drag and found the chemistry between Darín and the leading actress flat to say the least.)
