Andy Roddick and Andre Agassi were victorious in their street mugging/beat down/rear end whooping/flogging/etc of Genepri and Merklein!

This is the official thread to follow these guys throughout the tourny!

They take on Authors - Hanley next, they are one the best doubles teams in the world...

LOL!!!! :)

You don't see Andre in that position in singles very much. ;)

I'm wondering if they stood with one player forward and one back; that is, Andre on the baseline and Andy eight feet behind it.

Wow, those are really cool... well, maybe since they are animated, it doesn't work with the img code? http://smilies.q-branch.org/shrug.gif

Wait, that doesn't make any sense, since the smilie I just put worked... hmm... maybe because the size is too large.

I know, I have alot of them too. I have some of Roger....;) I have to figure out some way to post them. Those stupid tripod asses make it so the only way you can view them is by going to the page...

3 days' stubble is just as bad as a full beard :)

Kiara's post in the GM thread was informative... she thinks they could've won if they'd really tried to lol. Glad to hear they're not too inept :p

They lost  But well nice score. So thus probably a good "fight"

MisterQ

I'm glad Andre chose to play instead of bailing after his singles loss.

I was following the scoreboard, and AA-AR could have won this match if a few points had gone differently. They were holding serve pretty comfortably until they got unlucky from deuce at 4-4 in the first. And they were up 4-1 in the second, and then got to 5-4 in the tiebreak. Doubles is a team effort, so they would surely improve if they continued playing together. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but I would love to see them enter another tournament together!

Havok
06-09-2004, 08:21 PM
I really doo hope they play doubles together. Andre can have fun out there and they can "bond" out there. I'm sure Andre has passed some words of wisdom to Andy, and I'm sure Andy can pass on a few things to Andre as well (It's always nice to have some words of encouragement from the young dudes;))

Deboogle!.
06-09-2004, 08:33 PM
I agree with you both, on all accounts :) I'd like to see Andy play doubles more often anyway, good for his volleying, esp. on grass!

Fumus

Well it's my two favorite players, so when I saw that they were playing together, I was like "omg! I need to change my underwear"(at my desk at work when I saw)

no no but seriously, Agassi is officially in a slump but, he always rebounds in a big way and I see this as no different. Agassi will make the quarters of Wimbly (at least) but, I have a feeling he could to do more. Everyone is like Andre is “going to retire, to old, bla bla.”

To that I say, Andre has made the semis at 2 of the last 3 slams and he made the semis at IW, where he played a great match against Roger, he took a set off the world num.1, and was two points away from beating him. He's not in great form now but, certainly he hasn't fallen that far, and age isn't the factor...

Did Pete and Andre ever team up for Davis cup (on doubles)? That would have been awesome if they did...they would go down as one of my dream team doubles pairs...

1.Mcnroe/ Connors
2.Sampras/Agassi
3.Agassi/Roddick
4.Federer/Agassi
5.Roddick/Federer
6.Safin/Federer

Can you add more?

Dokic/Kournikova  this team beats any of your teams hands down :p

um how about hewitt/andy or timmy/andy?

to my knowledge, pete and Andre never played together.

I'd LOVE to see Roger and Andy play, that'd be great, I think they'd make a really good team too, realistically speaking.

McEnroe/Federer would be an incredible combo, if they were closer in age... ;)

Also Agassi/Santoro would be fun.

Yea see, so he's either aged alot in 5 or 6 months, or maybe just maybe, he is human, and he gets in slumps, but he rebounds like Shaq!!
