New tournament, new chances! Seb did extremely well here last year, reaching the finals. He's seeded 5th. First round is a bye, so at least he reaches second round ;) Let's see what happens!!

Alison

At least I'll get to see him play this tourney, that's if he's in it long enough

Alison
06-07-2004, 02:06 PM
I got Roland Garros,Lizan, but neither of Seb's matches. There was a slight  bias towards Henman.

It's on BBC2 here, but it's the same match as Eurosport are showing at the moment  ,but they did show Seb when the prog started :D as they were asking the players where the term 'seed' had come from.

Alison
06-08-2004, 08:20 AM
No,but at least he made a suggestion as to where it came from :) ,unlike certain American players who just went 'Doh,I dunno' (Homer Simpson stle)

Well done, Seb!!! Am I too pessimistic when I say that he hasn't really been tested so far? Anyway, great that they showed his matches two days in a row :D I really liked his effeminate little squeals when he didn't agree with a line call :p And which material are his shorts made of  They were all shiny, like nylon.
Good luck to Seb this afternoon!

Good to have you back, Stella!

Lizan

I think they are not going to show his match today, because they don't air tennis that long unfortunatly. And Seb is on third..

Hello everyone :wavey:
haven't been there for ages...I had some exams, and also some problems with my password !!!
Hey please Lizan keep watching seb's match !!! If you can make him win, lol... ;)
I've found some words from Flanagan about seb, that sounds quite good :D , although Flanangan is only ranked 866...

"He was superb," said Flanagan of his more experienced opponent. "He didn't give me an inch and he didn't miss a ball. He's the best player I've ever played against. But overall I'm pleased with the way this week has gone for me. I beat Philippoussis and Hanescu, so it shows you can beat anyone in the world."

I'm green with envy! You lucky people who can watch Eurosport and Stella Artois! I've moved and now I don't have cable tv - so goodbye to Eurosport and all hopes of watching Grosjean play a tournament that is not a Grand Slam! I can't believe it, but it's close on a year ago that I actually saw him! Ah, well, if he does well in Wimbledon I can see him soon - with his longer hair and new ugly tshirt!

06-11-2004, 06:25 PM
Hurrah! Just realized that he's actually in the semis in Queen's! Great! I so want him to take on Roddick in the final! Roddick is difficult to beat, and he's had loads of trouble with the American for the last few years - but imagine him giving Roddick a thrashing??? And in a final??? Wouldn't that just be lovely...sigh!? Anyway, come on, Grosjean! Please, get to the final! Please, win a title this year!

and what did he say ?

Marine
06-11-2004, 08:31 PM
Ughh..tu me poses une colle là ! lol
No, seriously, he said something like he played well, served well, returned well...likes this tournament, hopes the crows will support him at the next round... (I don't want to find an excuse but it's not easy to understand cos the french journalist translated at the same time, while everyone is able to understand seb's english... )

Lizan
06-11-2004, 09:00 PM
LOOOL Marine, I saw it too, the whole match AND the interview (LoL Crystal, I will do that, watch his matches so that he wins lol, no problem  ).. I think he's soooo cute how he speaks english, with the accent.. As Alison said: he says "gwass". it's sooo obvious!

He said he feels good on grass. I was really scared in the first set of the match, I really thought Stepanek was the better one in that set.. Fortunatly Seb got his high level back at the end of the first set. Still don't think he played the way he should be playing to win this tourney.. He was really playing dramaticly in the first few games..

I don't want to see him play R*****k.. The guy has a serve I absolutely don't like to see, it irritates me, coz nobody can break him (accept Federer).. Hopefully hewitt wins tomorrow (which he really deserves, and THEN it's going to be an interesting final, IF Seb is going to make it.

No really he says Gwass, didn't u notice??
He'd better prenounce it "à la française" then, it's better.. No actually he should leave it like this, it's nice lol.. He prenounced Surface in french ohhhh I could watch that interview alllll day!!!! (recorded it  lol)..

crystal
06-11-2004, 09:37 PM
looooool Lizan !!!
Yeah, keep on watching seb lol, we trust you !!!!!!!
I think he has a good opportunity tomorrow, he should beat the Korean Lee.
Anyway, if Lee is in semis it means that he played good, and after all he beat the man who beat Henman...so....but as Lee is a qualifier, maybe he's tired, who knows ?
Good luck to seb ! (maybe he won't need much luck as Lizan will be watching his match, he he....;-)

I've also noticed you posting here Katherine (Tennis724) :wavey:

Yay, I'm back - hello to everyone coz I haven't been into the player forums for a few weeks now (I feel like I've been neglecting Seb :().

I am so annoyed because yesterday cable TV here showed all the quarter finals live but Seb's match was on at about 2.30am and I fell asleep :( Tonight the Euro2004 football is starting and they have kicked the tennis off the air all together - I only get a replay tomorrow

I have been 'watching' Seb's semi on the Live Scoreboard and it's been a nerve-racking experience!!!!!!! I thought he was completely gone in that 2nd set.... 2 breaks I thought was going to be impossible to crawl back from but what a great comeback.

Well done Seb... now I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I hope Hewitt beats Roddick (I dislike Hewitt with a passion).

aarrghh my computer broke down earlier this week, so I couldn't check the order of play this morning and somehow I was convinced that Roddick and Hewitt would start today's matches. Fell into Seb's match when they started the second tie break, but after hearing that he had been 4-1 down, I'm actually glad I didn't see it, because I would have gone to pieces. It was good to see him fighting again!

Seb's in the final and I've got my computer back. Life is wonderful :D

I know, following a match on the scoreboard is nerve wrecking; but I'd totally forgotten how nerve wrecking it is to see a match live on TV. Anyway, he made some great points - and did some stupid things as well. Tomorrow it's Roddick :scared: Let's hope Seb does better than last year.

Yep, I finally made my way to Seb's forum :D . Sometimes it's just not enough to cheer on his score in a scoring thread :D :D

SEB!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I didn't get up to watch the Live SB because I made that horrible mistake in thinking that he would win in straights :o . Will I never learn??

Go Seb!! Believe in yourself tomorrow!!!

LOL tennis742, OMG good match!!
The only thing I'm missing is the acceleration of his forhand. Didn't see it once in this tournament. And I think that is Seb's best weapon!

His 1st serve is a little bit scary, coz he hardly hits it in, but also good coz he hitted a few aces. I think he serves soooo good, so hard. Most of them were over 200 km/h. Impressive!!

Fingers crossed for tomorrow..

7/6 - 6/4.. Not a bad score is it? I was really really really happy with his play. For the first time this year I think he can beat anyone, even Roddick..

There was this two points were I could cry .. The worst one was in the first set when it was 6/5 for Seb, and 40/30 breakpiont. That one should have been his, the whole field was open. What would have happend when he did win that piont and got the first set (7/5)?? Who knows he might have won..

And the one in the tiebreak.. Ohhh and there were he had a break in the first game of the second set. He was playing one of his best matches I've seen, I guess..

Queen's (ATP) - Birmingham (WTA Tour)

--like you guys said...he had a few opportunities but the scoreline is pretty good and sounds like he gave andy a run for his money. Good luck for Wimby Seb!!

Hey whassup everyone
It's such a long time that I haven't notice about Seb... I am too busy! Until when I was watching TV in Beijing and they had some report about the Stella Artois... and back to HK I saw Seb in TV (Sports news)!!! He did a nice job, although he lost to Roddick like last year... but I think he will be going well in the Wimby!
Oh anyone knows where Seb gonna play next? His name is not in the draws of Ordina or Nottingham! Oh where is Seb?

p.s. welcome here Faraway, and, are you living in China? Where? I am from Hong Kong!

Yes, Grosjean certainly has done more than well at Queen's! Too bad he didn't win, though I think he must have put up a fairly decent fight, looking at the close score. Not bad for a guy who's been pestered with injuries and a virus all first half of the year!

Surely he will go far in Wimbledon???

Only problem is: what to choose to watch, Wimby or European Championships in Portugal??? Both finals are to be played on my birthday!!

Wow, I only just finished watching the Queen's final on video. That really was very close! Seb played really well and had some amazing shots. Too bad he gave up a bit in the end, but maybe he was getting tired. He returned Roddick's serves amazingly well. I liked the interview with Andy Roddick at the end and Seb's cheeky smile when Roddick predicted a 1-0 victory of the English football team over France (mwahahahaha).

Grosjean actually predicted the French victory? Maybe he should place bettings? Or maybe he doesn't really need the money...? Anyway, it was a thrilling match, and it was just amazing the way the French suddenly had the luck of the Irish - Zidane's free kick was beautiful, and his penalty just showed how bad Beckham's was!
