I may be too hyped for this match because i am picturing Samp in his prime but i still think it's going to be an unbelievable three matches. i just hope Samp can make it competitive.

Do you think Samp can win one of the matches (or a set)?

TTC has coverage - live and primetime tape delay. If you don't have the channel, like me :(,they will have it on streaming video on their site. (http://www.thetennischannel.com/federer_sampras/)

I think it's because he has nothing whatsoever to lose. Everyone knows he's ten years older than Federer and retired years ago. He doesn't even look particularly bad if he loses every match 1, 2 and 2. He only looks bad IF it looks like he's playing as well as ever and THEN loses 1, 2 and 2, which is never going to happen. Meanwhile if he takes a couple of sets off Fed, or even sees a few sets to a tiebreak - entirely possible; even Karlovic can do that - he comes off looking like the moral victor. And if Federer is nervous or on a Volandri day or something, he may even lose one of these matches.

Sampras can come off looking bad only if Federer absolutely whips him - multiple bagels or something. Federer looks bad every time he loses serve. Somehow I think you're worried about the wrong man making a fool of himself.

Funny to see both guys hedging their bets in case of a disaster

Federer ready to take on Sampras

World number one Roger Federer will play the first of three matches against seven-time Wimbledon champion Pete Sampras in Seoul on Tuesday.

Federer, who retained his Masters Cup title on Sunday, will also take on Sampras in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday and Macau on Saturday.

Sampras, 36, retired in 2002 but has been training hard for the exhibitions.

"I am up against a very big challenge, I've been stepping up my practice," said Sampras.
"Perhaps I am not quite as sharp as I used to be, but I think I can still be competitive. But I've got my hands full for sure."
http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/shared/img/o.gif

Federer said: "It's a great honour, but not easy at the same time. People will be surprised how well he's actually playing today.
"It's going to be difficult because I practised with him in LA this year.
"He seemed to play very, very well. He's still got the lethal forehand, the great slice and the great serve, you know, the fantastic movement and volleys."

Federer, 26, won his 12th Grand Slam title at the US Open in September and is closing in on Sampras's record of 14.
Federer and Sampras met only once in competition, with the Swiss winning a five-set thriller in the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2001.

You could tell. If you watch his interviews right after he retired, compared to the more recent ones...he looked a little restless. Happy and content with family life, of course, and not looking to get back to his old grind...but kind of itchy, nonetheless. ;)

I honestly think Sampras WILL win one of these matches. He put up a fight in the first one (having a quick 4-1 lead). And being known for his will and fight...I really think he'll put a win together.

Seriously. We're talking about one of the greatest players of all-time in what is surely to be his last big match of his life.

and I am a HUGE Roger fan, btw.
