hey, i was just wondering, is nalbandian really popular in argentina as much as the other tennis players???
and also, i heard that the situation in argentina isn't really good at this moment... do people in argentina still watch tennis, or is their mind in another place?
anyways, i hope the situation in argentina will get better soon!!!

I don't know what situation you're talking about, but if it's the economical one we're much better. the huge problem was a couple of weeks ago and although the situation is not great right now that doesn't mean we don't pay attention to other things like tennis.
Tennis is not the most popular sport in Argentina, football is, however this week everyone's talking about tennis and all of the sudden everyone's an subject expert. I think Coria and Nalbandian are the most popular ones here, they have their moments, right now Gaudio is very popular too...
I hope this answered your question.

Actually I believe it is gabriela sabatini who brought Argentina's tennis to fame. Guillermo Vilas was a legend of course, but he is too old for us to know Argentina's tennis. Now there are such a large number of men players who are working so hard to bring tennis up to par with football. I can name a lot: david, coria, gaudio, zabaleta, calleri, chela, canas, acasuso, squillari and a newcomer, Monaco. Arg is on the way to replace Spain as the tennis nation.

Well, Gaudio and Cañas did a great job before that David and Guillermo get in the professional level...when Argentina get the QF in Davis cup....and there are other players here, like luis lobo, and of course Etlis, Rodriguez, Lucas Arnold....

Hi!
I read it.
And I read too that "Muñeca Brava" with Natalia Oreiro was a success there.
And she like singer too!!!!
Sometime I heard an interview with Facundo Arana (the blonde man, main character men), He was talking about you (Israelis) and he say that we have a lot of things in common with our ways, that you are very "latin" people: affectionate people, passionate people. I don't know you. Is this like this? :wavey:

hehe yeah i agree with him.. i think its true. the people in israel are a lot like the people in argentina, and i have friends that went to a trip there, and got along really easily with the ppl there.
i think that the argentinan ppl are really nice, and people here in israel really appreciate them also because many argentinan starts (like natalia Oreiro, Facundo Arana), came and visited here, eventhough most of the stars from the world are afraid to come, because they are afraid to get killed by a suicuide bomber...
but ur stars still come, and seriously, you should see how they are loved here........ they say that they feel like israel is almost like argentina.
just that you know, there is an israel channel that is dedicated to all these series coming from argentina...! and like 80% of the people in israel watch them! :) :) :) i think we think the same way...! :)

It's very strange. Because we are so far away. Because we have different cultures, religion, politics, laws, et.
But the argentines have a big mix of that things in our country, and here is the 2nd jewish colony after the jewish colony in USA.

But the fact is: so many israelis people (80%) see our tv shows!!!
It's too much!!
Sometimes we aren't in agreement with our TV shows, but it can't be so bad.

;)

I listen that here, TELEFE company want to sell you "Resistiré" ("I'll resist" another tv show) but is a "little hot" for prime time.
I like it.

Hugs!!

Do you know that David has on his cellphone the sound (ringtone) of "Hava NAgila"?
I really don't know if he is jewish, because I read that he went to a catolic school in his town...

yeah its true we're really far away, but you know, israel and the us are really "good friends", eventhough these two countries are really far away from each other.

we have also a mix of cultures here. most of the people came from different countries in europe, some from the latin country (i have a friend from argentina...!), and some from the us.. so we have a lot of cultures too.
i didn't know argentina had the 2nd largest jewish population.. that's awesome!! :)! whats the total population in argentina?? in israel there are 6.5 million people, 5.5 million jewish, and all the others christians or muslims...

i haven't heard about Resistiré, are there any famous actors playing there??
a couple of years ago there were a lot of people watching the tv show: "chiquititas"....! and also there was another tv show with romina yan, i think that was her name.. and many with facundo arana and natalia oreiro (sorry if i mispelled the names...)

have you ever heard of Yair Dori? he is the one producing Rebeldeway and these other argentinian tv series.... hes israeli but he was born in argentina. he lost one hand after he was in the egyptian prison during one of our wars... ouch.. but he still produces many tv shows in argentina and then bring them to israel!

i like your tv shows beceause i learn spanish from them. i speak fluently french, and spanish is close to french, so most of the time i understand, but then again, when you watch a tv show in spanish, you learn some words! :).. in my school i can learn spanish.. but i didn't take it because i take already french... but one day i'll learn spanish. i like the sounds of this language.

woooooooowwwwwwwww he has "hava nagila"? yeah its a jewish song... its in hebrew and like jewish people usually sing it in the bar mitva... (its a ceremony for guys when they are 13...!). its a happy song, i like it. wish i had a ringtone like that...!
well yeah i know some say he is christian some say he is not.. ive heard people say he was jewish but you know sometimes these things are just rumors.. so unless we ask david himself, we won't be able to get answer to any question we have. but he's really cool anyway:)!!

if he comes to a tournament in israel - im sure going!!
