Who are gays on ATP circuit?

Just wondering, maybe it's just me, but not too many straight men cry after their matches, so maybe Gaston is actually queer? (in a good sense;) )
And there are also rumors of JMG who hang around men a lot. James Blakes hang around men a lot too, esp. with Andy too hotty;) who just might not be as straight as people think, good plloy with Mandy though:)
Other speculations include Michael Llodra, who was in the military:eek: and loves to strip naked:) also Richard Gasquet, who is probably not stright, hopefully:)
Got more speculations?

Well there has gotta be a number of gay guys on the tour for sure. No doubt about it. They are just closeted for a number of reasons (sponsorship, media, family, friends etc). Many gay guys have trouble coming out because of the issues with family, friends and work etc. It can take years for many to truly come out, many never do. Some are 'out' from puberty, childhood even. It would be even more difficult to come out in the professional sports world with the world wide attention from the media. I am sure I would have tried to stay hidden as long as possible in such an environment, esp as no one has led the way and you would have the unenviable situation of being the first.

I know many people who have married because of the pressure of society, and yet they are largely gay. Shame really.... but that's how society can be. And there are a few tennis players who are now married or with girlfriends but if they aren't predominantly gay then I am Mother Theresa. Not going to bother with names coz that's just speculation, but THEY are out there. LOL

None of the tennis players I'v seen look gay to me. I anyways always thought that these gay discusions are totaly false. You are not just 'gay' or not 'gay'. It is well known that less than 10% of people had no wish to experiment with the same sex in some part of their life (usualy teen years or childhood). But that is not something you discuss openly in publics.

Uhm.. Sluiter has a girlfriend.

It's an illusion to think that there are only two or three gay players out there. Statistically speaking, 1 in 10 people is gay. Maybe that would be 1 in 12 in tennis.

And players 'looking gay'.. That so doesn't mean a thing. I thought Tomas Behrend looked gay, but he has a girlfriend too. Or had, anyway.

having a girlfriend means absolutely nothing. My best friends mom is a lesbian and only came out last year when she left her husband! Also, look at David Guest, Liza Manelli's husband!!!!!

The facts are that there MUST be someone gay on the tour, my picks -

Gambill (hello!?)
Kiefer

I'd say Schuettler, Nalbandian and Roddick but that would we wishful thinking cos they are HOT!

Maybe YOU'RE gay, but that doesn't mean everybody else is.

From here:) I didnt know that, thanks little duck.
None of the tennis players I'v seen look gay to me. I anyways always thought that these gay discusions are totaly false. You are not just 'gay' or not 'gay'. It is well known that less than 10% of people had not experimented with the same sex in some part of their life (usualy teen years or childhood). But that is not something you discuss openly in publics.

Have you had sex with girls before? You havent answered me:)
Anyways, I just think it's fun to see who is still trying to come out of the closet. e.g. Gaudio, I'm pretty sure he is:) (sorry, tangerine_dream:))

Sorry, I found it out for myself on www.dictionary.com

1) androgenous:
relating to or exhibiting both female and male sex organs but with a predominantly female appearance 2: of or related to androgenesis

2) Homophobic:
Fear of or contempt for lesbians and gay men.
Behavior based on such a feeling.

That is the second definition of androgynous and it is what the people in this thread were referring to.

You have to think logically! What do you achieve by just mentioning player`s names as gay men? I know most of these lists are wish lists. Don`t forget, not all men have to be gay to make experiences with other guys, they can also be bi-sexual. So players who have relationships or date girls can also like men. In every group of men, no matter which job they do, there always must be a percentage of gay or bi-sexual men. Professionell tennis players just have to hide it because of old fashioned people in sports.

Why do some of you mention Jim Courier? He doesn`t look or behave very gay...

Rumour has it a certain ex Prime Minister (a gay one at that) got married and did the whole shebang for this very reason.

Gaudio

Well that's complete BS.

I know that according to some studies, there's an important part of the population who is bisexual.

However, we have to be careful with those "studies".

Basically they consider "bisexual" every person who had sexual relations with both men and women.

But the truth is, just because let's say a gay man slept with a couple of women, it doesn't make him bisexual. Most of the time, it's because he was in denial / still in the closet / just experimenting / drunk / whatever else.

From my life experience, most people are clearly sexually attracted to either men or women only. But sure, a lot of people had sexual experiences with both men and women, but it doesn't make them bisexuals.

I know this is hilarious the things people can come up with. It's mainly based on stereotypes and lack of information on their part.

You don't need to "act" or "look gay" in order to be a homosexual. In fact most homosexuals don't act or look "gay" at all. Homosexuality is not merely a phenotypical phenomenon. It is a lifestyle, a sexual preference and it is largely being discussed that there exist many genetic precursors involved in one being homosexual which is mainly due to or attributed to hormonal development and expression.

(funny thing this reminds me so much of my psych courses in college "gender psychology", "personality psychology" and "social psych" among others) :tape:

No, but it sets an example for closeted gays around the world. If more people were open about who they were, it might not be such a big issue when someone did come out of the closet. It's a daunting enough task already, in my mind, only challenged by living a lie. Bringing homosexuality into the spotlight will ultimately help people to be more accepting.

One tenth of the population, possibly higher, are gay or bisexual. The very irregularly low percentage of these who are honest about their sexuality makes these figures lower than they really are.

Well, I would welcome any celebrity or public figure who wants to step out of the closet by his/her choice to encourage acceptance of homosexuality. But it's not up to us to force them to, because their sexual preference is their own business, unless they hypocritically and actively pursue a course of actions or policies that harm gay people, i.e. Larry Craig, the dumbass US Senator who was caught with his pants down in a men's room. The motives of the originator of this thread seem to be based on prurient curiosity, and not any kind of needs to educate, hence, my disdain.
