Time to see who will join the 1st title club of 2008? Don't worry if your choice is not there, the other option has been included and more than likely someone not listed will win an event next year.

Player Event Surface

Kei Nishikori (JPN) Delray Beach Hardcourt
Sergiy Stakhovsky (UKR) Zagreb Indoor Hardcourt
Sam Querrey (USA) Las Vegas Hardcourt
Marcel Granollers (ESP) Houston Clay
Victor Hanescu (ROM) Gstaad Clay
Juan Martin del Potro (ARG) Stuttgart Clay
Albert Montañes (ESP) Amersfoort Clay
Marin Cilic (CRO) New Haven Hardcourt
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) Bangkok Indoor Hardcourt
Igot Kunitsyn (RUS) Moscow Indoor Hardcourt
Philipp Petzschner (GER) Vienna Indoor Hardcourt

I think Mahut and Tsonga have good chances, speccially because they always play well at France and there are good tournaments to do well in that country (Metz,Lyon).

Also, Gulbis seems like the most talented in this group, at least for me.

And i also voted for the other option because there's always a surprise :D My shot goes to Dancevic

gulbis is a safe bet. JMDP should make another step forward and he can win titles already next year. querrey will probably win a random north american hardcourt MM event.

other is a must-vote, because there are always some journeymen who win a MM title with a proper draw. maybe tipsarevic, becker, berrer?

Del Potro is long overdue, and Gulbis with the way he progressed this season you'd expect him to win his first title in 2008. Querrey is another youngster to keep an eye on.

Starace, Montanes and Hanescu will be contenders for the MM clay tournaments.

I also expect at least one Frenchman from Tsonga, Mahut, Benneteau and Gicquel to join the list.

Others: Benji Becker, Tipsarevic.

If Mahut plays Newport then he should have a great chance of winning his first title, he really impressed me on grass this year
Also think Gulbis and Tsonga might as well, Tsonga in one of the French tournaments and Starace has to win one at some point on clay

Starace showed glimpses of great form this year. If he can play like that through the clay season, he has a decent chance of winning a title. He just needs to find the smallest Mickey Mouse-tourneys on clay...

For the "surprise win" (I think these players will do well consistently and improve their ranking):

On clay:

Marcel Granollers

On hard:

Jesse Levine
Adrian Mannarino

I'm not sure about the established players listed in the poll, maybe Gulbis, I think Tsonga probably just lacks the _fitness to go all the way.

Mahut and Potato should benefit from the experience of playing their first finals this year and will be good bets to win a MM title on grass and clay respectively.

Tipsarevic should have a chance too because he goes well on all surfaces and with nothing to defend until March should boost his ranking quite quickly at the start of next year. His 5 set record suggests he's mentally tough as well should he reach a final. (won his last 4 finals at Challenger level and is 9-4 overall)

Nishikori could pull off a surprise at Delray Beach!

But apart from him, I expect Mahut, Del Porto, Querrey and Tsonga to grab titles.

I only see Tsonga having a realistic shot at winning, out of those. :p I'll be surprised if he does much on clay, but he will be a force to be reckoned with on the other surfaces.

Mahut will have a greater shot on grass and indoors...and his best chances would probably be at Newport and Metz. :tape: Not unrealistic, I guess.

Del Bambi...still sceptical as to his potential on European clay (with the tough player fields). Can do damage on other surfaces, but seems prone to losing to virtually any type of player, isn't all that fearsome in strong events, and, obviously, is fairly injury-prone. Not convinced.

Querrey...on the basis of today, no way! Delray was one of the weakest ATP draws possible, and he couldn't take advantage of it...and he has yet to learn how to play on grass, thus limiting his chances even in Newport. :o
