Are there any pros on MTF?

Men this is the biggest tennis forum in the internet isn´t it.
I wonder why besides me there are no other pros on here.
Should be interesting for them to read the stuff no?

I'm sure there are at least a few professionals that read these boards... who knows, maybe some of them even post. But it would be stupid for them to admit who they are, they'd never be able to post in peace. They'd also be flooded with PMs from annoying "fans."

There may be a few Futures players who read or whatever but there is no reason for any top players to be on here. Its not like they get a kick out of seeing their name on an internet messege board.

Hi, I'm Sergio Roitman.

Great Sergiuzza. Good luck against GRANOLLERS-PUJOL today.

But seriously why would a pro look at these boards though. Who wants to see 50% of the people telling them they are mugs and chokers. Maybe to pick up tips on whats wrong with their game and how they can improve, LOL

Just for the sake of argument, taking the OP seriously- what would their motivation be? If most of the discussion that takes place centers around results and information they already know about, why would they be here?

If anything, some would go running in the other direction to save their sanity.

The truth is the professionals do read this board. This question has been asked a bunch of times, mods should merge this thread with the last person that asked this question. I know for a fact Roddick reads message boards from time to time, don't know if it's here or Tennis Warehouse. Dmitry Tursonov actually posts on the Tennis warehouse forum, also it was noted in some South American news paper years ago that certain players come to the MTF for their tennis news first, before any other source.

Dmitry Tursonov actually posts on the Tennis warehouse forum, also it was noted in some South American news paper years ago that certain players come to the MTF for their tennis news first, before any other source.

There has been much speculation about Tursunov reading and posting both here and at Tennis-Warehouse, but it's never been proven for sure that I've seen. I had a chance to ask him and completely forgot, just asked him about his myspace page instead.

I've spoken to a few players about tennis forums and they all said they preferred to avoid them and let the fans have their place to speak freely. They also had the attitude that they are around tennis all day long, they don't need to talk about it at night. Conversely, I know other members of this forum have spoken to different players who say that they do read MTF, for whatever reason.

Roddick, his family, and his girlfriend (Mandy Moore) used to read the old RoddickRocks messageboard when it existed. Mandy told me herself that it was the fastest, most reliable place to get scores and news (huge surprise and boy we were all more careful after that). He used to read his own forum too, and probably still does from time to time, when he's very bored and not playing online poker ;).

this place is the biggest tard fest on the planet.

any real tennis player would vomit all over their computer screen after reading this garbage for more than 5 minutes.

If eugenics was still in place 80% of us would be neutered or put to "sleep" already.

WTF man.

Take me for a fool, a dumbass, a joker or what you want, but back in 2001 there was a chat on wtatour.com and I'm 90% certain to have talked with Serena Williams. About 5 others persons with me asked her questions on tennis, her private life, family etc. and she was giving the good answer at everything. It was in february 2001 and I'm not sure if sites such as Wikipedia were existing + she was answering quickly. One thing is sure, if it was not Serena it was his/her BIGGEST fan, a very good friend or someone of her family.

i wouldnt be that surprised if wta players drop by once in a lifetime to say something to the fans @wtaworld.

on the other hand, the average atp pro has nothing to see on MTF.

unless of course we are talking about roger federer, who would, de facto, save his career if he found out about clay death

Exactly, I really HOPE (or want to believe) that there are no ATP players in here. Tennis is much more friendly, funny and classy that the "verbal battles" that we have in this forums, whose main objective seem to be dismerit and throw rubbish over every player in every moment we want. The worst thing about it is that we're always talking and discussing about aspects of the professional tennis and we don't know a shit about that, about the pressure, the fans, the extreme difficult to be capable of winning a match, a tournament (ATP, AMS, GS or whatever) We think that we can judge a player and call him "loser, pusher, moonballer, mug, lucky, etc", and I am completely sure that there are a lot of readers of this forums that are influenced by the posts they read every day, and the 90% of the posts in General Messages don't mean nothing.

That's good for us, we are entertained here, but the profesional players should skip this all the way.

Why would any ATP player bother to visit GM? Good threads are 1 in every 100 - every other thread descends into tardism, fanboy-ism and various pissed-off reactions and mocking glee whenever some player loses. Honestly, this site probably has a reputation on the circuit for being the place of crazy uninformed irrational fanatics, which is probably why ATP players avoid it like the plague :p  At the very least, they would never post on it.
