I think Misha will step it up here. Youzhny with one break in the 3rd.

I'm sick of this idiot known as the Colonel

Rafa wins 62 62 and send that clown back to Russia

Misha in 2

Things are looking indeed bleak for Rafa who seems to have regressed significantly from last year (And the incessant whining about purported injuries is getting old...)
I think he'll lose at least once on clay next year, probably at
FO.

I don't think Youzhny is in brilliant form and the late match won't help. So far in Madrid and Paris every player who won the last match past midnight the previous day lost the next day, and they often had to play in the afternoon with little rest. Nadal may not be at his best but it will be enough.

You may be right. And we did get a glimpse of Rafzilla today - that's always a good sign. I'm still cheering for Murray in this one. Call me crazy, but I'd like to see him with a MS shield.

Do you have the slightest idea about the sport of tennis? 'cause it just so "happens" this is Nadal's second best season ever since he became the world's number 2. Granted, it's "only" been about three years since that happened -- but this year's edition of Rafa (knee problems included of course) )is by far, IMHO, his best all-around showing. Might want to remember as well, that Rafa's is a player who needs to play in order to get into his groove. IOW, normally he only gets better after each round.

Don't believe me? Don't have to. Take a look at the ATP stats. And no, I won't bother linking/facilitating said info to another, nitwit, Nadal-basher.

Although his body may let him down at times (the same one that's won him plenty a tourney), it's only natural that he wasn't his usual brilliant self in Madrid -- long lay-offs, for good and bad, hurt his game.

But methinks Rafa's right where he wants to be: playing and winning after his kind-of hiccup vs Nalbadian, who's likely playing his best tennis in years. Or ever really -- it was mostly about "potential" in the past. Ask Fed if you disagree. His -- Rafa's -- game, admittedly, hasn't been at his best neither in Madrid or here (so far), but like I said, the more he plays, the better he gets.

Rafa to the Final. Bet on it.

Lose on clay next year? Color me unimpressed with your Kreskin-like abilities....surely we all know that what Nadal's been doing during the past three years clay-season is something simply unreal -- legendary stuff, actually. But "unreal" doesn't last forever, 'cause, believe it or not, he's just a mere mortal like the rest of us at the end of the day. And who doesn't have bad days at whatever craft they devote themselves to? No need to answer -- I already know the response.

Keep hating though, if it makes you feel any better...

Misha in 3 but I could be wrong, both players are far from their best.

Lack of response noted. You've got nothing.

I hope Nadal gets passed Youzhny, he's certainly had trouble against him in the past, but I don't think Youzhny is at that level right now.

I'll say Nadal in 2.

Youzhny can't win if he plays like a petulent child like he did against Haas tonight - Nadal won't have a mental meltdown to help Youzhny out. So little rest can't help him either...

Rafa in straight, only top 4 player left, getting his confidence back. Unless Youzhny plays a blinder then it will be Raf in 3. The court is slow
