Muzza is a nickname used in the UK with someone who has a name Murray.

Similar if someone is called Barry, then they have a nickname of Bazza etc!

If you're not from UK it's not obvious. I had thought it was some crack on his hair.

That's strange. I've never heard of that and I have several friends from the UK. Thanks for clarifying it though.

UK has over 60 million people, obviously not every single person will use this for names. Such as someone called Stepahnie won't all be called Stezza or whatever. They are more likely to be called Steph or Stephie etc. It's just that in this particular case, Muzza is a nickname that some people throughout the UK use for the name Murray.

Guess you thought wrong then, didn't you!

Probably the same why I assume your nick refers to either the size of your upstairs head, or your little downstairs head! Maybe even perhaps a combination of both! :wavey:

No, I mean I've never heard any of them call Murray Muzza.

That's the point. As I said over 60 million people. In this case Muzza is a nickname that he has been stuck with & he got it through his surname. I could look up the phone book to another Murray a few miles away & ask them what their nickname is. Chances are it'll be something different. I could ask another one further away & they'll probably have something different again. I could ask another & they may be called Muzza or they may not be. The point is everyone will have different nicks for the name. Just that Muzza is a fairly common nickname for people with Murray in their name. I'm sure there are a few others like Muzzer, Muz or whatever & lots more that have nothing to do with the name whatsoever. Such as in the NBA, Ronald Murray is called 'Flip'. He got it because he used to do gymnatics & do flips all the time. Just in this case, his is Muzza & it relates to his surname. Nothing more & nothing less!
