lol

ATP Rankings = Race points + Shanghai

Neither Canas and Ljubicic are going to Shanghai and neither played challengers this season, so there will be no discrepancies between the two rankings when we talk about these two players.

Ljubicic is gonna lose his Shanghai points

he had 1 win in RR

also Canas is already ahead

well Robredo last year had a good performance in the masters cup, he beat Blake and was very close to beat Davydenko.

Blake was already qualified as first in the group, that was just like a dead rubber

Davydenko ripped him 6-1 in final set, i doubt you can call it close to winning

the first set was pretty close , Davydenko won the tiebreak 12 10 ,then Robredo won the second set 63, so its for that i consider Robredo was close to win .

Great Tommy, I am not the biggest fan, but I am not a hater too. If he goes to Shanghai - it is fully deserved as rankings are as objective as they can be. People here treat Robredo like he was some bloke from local club. But HEY - he is a Top10 player since a LONG time and it must mean something. Possible second in a row appearance in TMC also is a great achievement. Canas lost cause he worse worse, shut up haters.

Ive already done the calculations, all Canas had to do was have a better Paris result than Ljubo.

hope robredo keeps on winning and qualifies for TMC for two reasons.
1.) He'll piss so many people off.
2.) He deserves to be there cause unlike other players he's been consistent and worked hard throughout the year.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you there. He may send some people (including you) to sleep with his style, but personally I would much rather watch Tommy than some one-dimensional big server any day - it's purely a matter of personal opinion - not a fact. As for him not being "good enough" - well if he ends up in the Top 8 with more points that the people beneath him, then surely he must be good enough -or at least better than them over this Season, or they would be above him in the ranking?

It's fair enough, different styles suit different viewers.

But at least a big server's match doesn't take over an hour per set ;)

I find it amazing anyone can find him entertaining to watch. He's a mediocre pusher with no talent whatsoever other than running down balls and boring the opposition to death.

He WILL qualify and he'll qualify because of these pisspoor lucky draws- three in a row in fact, but he was so poor he was unable to take advantage of the last two ones.

Depends on what is meant by "good enough".

Robredo has continually failed to perform against higher ranked players with a very weak record against the top 5 players; the year end masters is a bad place to be if you fail to perform against top players.

I would confidently predict that he would not beat the world number 1, 2 and 3 in successive rounds like Nalbandian did in Madrid.
