Against either Blake/Gasquet, will be huge.

Muzza's unstoppable :sport:

Fabrice's leg was bothering him, 2nd set was pretty one sided. Good stuff from Muzza though :)

A real shame about Nole's tank/injury whatever it was - it could have been a great match between Nole and Muzza.

Too many UEs the first set. But some of those points in the second set were just mouth-watering. He has such a natural feel for the court. :worship:

Good fun - great points, wily, creative tennis from both.

Fabrice fell away a bit in the second, I think he was feeling that leg, but Andy definitely relaxed and once it started to flow he was looking extremely good.

The bar is raised once again, and it's now up to his rivals to keep pace. It looks like they are doing, so far. It's a very good end to the race this year.

Incidently, apparently this win rules Nalbandian out of contention now, mathematically he won't be able to pip 8th place.

Good win for Andy, some really nice stuff at times in the match. It was really good to see the mutual respect that both players have at the end of the match as well.

Big test up next against Blake or Gasquet - I really hope Andy can do it though, the guy deserves to be in Shanghai.

on sky sports the commentators were saying Fabrice should hand over his title of "magician" to Muzza when he retires. Also Fabrice seem to applaud a few of Muzzas trick shots :D

There was one moment towards the end of the match where Murray was attacking and kept hitting backhands down the line, Santoro parried them back, then threw in a floater trying to goad Murray into going crosscourt, Murray calmly guides it down the line while Santoro stands watching and Fabrice applauds it and it was almost like a "you have learned well, my young Padawan" moment.

I LOVED that one. I was applauding myself. :D

As much as I love Nadal, right at this moment there is nobody I'd rather watch play tennis than Andy Murray.

Yes, one out of Murray/Gasquet/Blake will reach the semis, that one will be ahead of David even if the latter wins the tournament.

Yeah Murray has said he's delighted he got to play Fabrice once, although in his post-match interview, he admitted wryly that it's much more fun to watch Fabrice than to play against him.

Boredo's win kind of screws Andy. I have a feeling he'll beat Baghdatis, which would leave Muzza needing to reach the final - in other words, to probably have to beat Federer in the SF :(

I'm so dissapointed that Robredo could make it. If not Murray then Gasquet, Blake or Berdych who could potentially offer up some entertaining tennis.

I think Robredo's going to get it - hes had such an easy ride. Although Baggy is playing well so fingers crossed.

Yep it's a key match, and I have to say, having to count on Baghdatis leaves me a bit queasy.

I can only hope their relatively different matches today (easy for Baghdatis against a woeful Davydenko, while Robredo took 2 1/2 hours to subdue Canas) will count in the Cypriot's favour tomorrow.

Failing this, Murray will just have to beat Federer again, assuming Federer comes through Nalbandian and Berdych/Ferrer

There are rumours Roddick may not make the trip in order to concentrate on the Davis Cup final but there's been nothing at all official on that score so we will have to wait and see.

To be honest, even if Andy loses to Gasquet now I won't be too gutted. He's put up a hell of a fight from a seemingly impossible position, I remember not long ago, myself and many others were saying he should take the rest of the season off, he looked awful when he came back after the wrist injury.

Obviously I'd love for him to make it to Shanghai though, he really does deserve it.

Agreed - he can be immensely proud of the fact that he has been a serious contender.

I want him to take it but even if he doesn't, he's ended the season extremely well (while at times still not even playing all that well) and set himself up for forward strides in 2008.

All he can do now is defeat Gasquet tomorrow and see how the other results pan out. That may be enough. It may not. Either way, he's well and truly back and I couldn't be more thrilled.

I still probably will be cheering Rafa through gritted teeth Adee, coz

-Youz can still make it
-Rafa would have a better chance in the Semis to take out Robredo if Baggy blows it tomorrow.

ideal scenario is Murray beats Gas, Baggy beats Robredo , Rafa loses to Youz, Youz loses to Baggy in the Semis, Baggy loses in the final to whoever.

thats all i ask of you tennis gods

Oh, come on Mikey. Cheering for Raf is fun - you should try it some time...you might like it. *I* cheered for Feds in the US Open final. It wasn't so bad (though I nearly choked the first time I said "Come ON Roger". After that it got much easier).

I wouldn't pin your hopes on Baghs, Mike. Its never a safe bet. Better if Murray just wins the whole thing and then we won't have to worry about it. And yes, if Raf and Muzz play in the final, I'll be cheering for Muzz. (I'm so ashamed, fellow Rafatards... )

I'll have faith in Baggy Cheryl cos he's beaten better players (Ferrero, Ljubo and Davy) comfortably , than Robredmug.

you were cheering for Fed at the Open apart from his shoes, shorts and manbag :p

like the schedule of tomorrow's games.... Muzza and Gasquet is the last match at night and by then it could be winner takes all match :D

Murray winning the whole thing, hmmm dunno........ although Rusedski and Henman did win here in the last 10 years, maybe its kind to 'the brits'

Okay. I admit it - the shoes, shorts and man purse NEARLY made me cheer for Djokovic. But then I decided that dressing like a woman is still preferable to being a cheater, so I ignored the part of me that kept wanting to call him Rogina and I cheered for him, patent leather and all..

If its winner takes all, I'm not sure I'll be able to watch. I get SO nervous.

Did anyone hear Tipsarevich against Haas - both of them were in foul moods by the end and if you thought Rafa's grunts were bad Tips semi orgasmic groaning when hitting every ball is ridiculous and as much as I find Robredo's play boring at least for the most part he doesn't grunt.
