Look at his form Smyczek was a promising junior who reached the Wimbledon SF in 2005. He soon won a futures title in early 2006 but then found it tough to gain ranking points on the American circuit. Most of his WC's have been for qualifying in challengers but it's been a long time since he won his one and only main draw match in challengers in 2006.

He's actually a decent player, I don't know what his deal is. He doesn't get a LOT of WCs, though.

I've seen him play quite a few times, and he's terribly inconsistent. He hits a hard, flat ball... and when he's playing well he has top 200 potential. One of his main problems that he won't be able to fix is that he's so short.

But even if he lost every match 0 and 0 I'd still support him fanatically. He's a great guy. :yeah:

He put on a really impressive display in the qualies of D.C. in 2006, he spanked Fognini 6-1 6-3. He has some game, he just needs to become more consistent. Much more.

18 year old Australian John Patrick Smith destroys Zach Fleishman in his first ever challenger match...impressive. (He did play a few futures early in the year while still playing juniors)
