Interesting battle of teammates.
Tsonga defeats Grosjean 6-3 3-6 6-3Veronique 10-30-2007, 04:16 PM Interesting battle of teammates. Caio_Brasil 10-30-2007, 04:18 PM Niec match, Tsonga started to do lots of UE in the second set but managed to win the third by serving well. Voo de Mar 10-30-2007, 04:18 PM Ali played very well in the third set :yeah: I'm surprised with his footwork because in the 2nd set he was looking tired. Veronique 10-30-2007, 04:20 PM I really hope he can improve his conditioning. He's not suppose to look tired against grand-pa Grosjean. Small steps though, he was able to beat him this week. FrogBurger 10-30-2007, 04:39 PM Nice job Jo - Nice win! osalsyst 10-30-2007, 04:41 PM Dammit Seb! Merton 10-30-2007, 04:50 PM Seb looked tired in the 3rd, it was good to see Tsonga keeping up the pressure in the 3rd after suddenly getting broken and losing the 2nd, these little things are signs of growing experience and confidence, very encouraging. +alonso 10-30-2007, 05:08 PM  Seb! :( Ivo#1Fan 10-30-2007, 05:34 PM Ali played very well in the third set :yeah: I'm surprised with his footwork because in the 2nd set he was looking tired. Shouldn't be too surprised. Ali Sr. always had excellent footwork. Floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee ;) stebs 10-30-2007, 05:53 PM They both looked like they'd just come back from war by the third set but Tsonga livened up and got the job done well. Grosjean has happy memories here and his volleying tactics were good but he didn't hit them well enough in the third set and kept giving Tsonga chances to pass. Henry Chinaski 10-30-2007, 06:01 PM I thought Grosjean's best tactic was to run down everything and let Tsonga beat himself. He didn't have the stamina to keep it up though and most of those net approaches near the end looked pretty tired and desperate. jonny84 10-30-2007, 06:22 PM I thought Grosjean would continue his winning streak after winning Lyon. TMJordan 10-30-2007, 06:45 PM Revenge  Andi-M 10-30-2007, 07:15 PM :baby: Tsonga my cutie!!!!!!!!! JBdV 10-30-2007, 07:26 PM Jo :yeah: FedFan_2007 10-30-2007, 07:40 PM I want to see the Fed/Tsonga matchup. Put an end to this "Baby Ali" nonsense once and for all. Veronique 10-31-2007, 12:16 AM Ali, boma ye! Ali, boma ye! Getting carried away, I know;-) the graduate 10-31-2007, 12:26 AM Tsonga could be the French hope he is charismatic and has a fluid game that as he grows in confidence he is a top tenner and might even surpass Monfils and Gasquet, he is definitely growing in confidence.:worship: Clara Bow 10-31-2007, 03:36 AM I want to see the Fed/Tsonga matchup. Put an end to this "Baby Ali" nonsense once and for all. Isn't he just called Baby Ali because he looks like a young Cassius Clay? I don't see why that is "nonsense"- imo Tsonga does resemble Ali in the early 1960s. I don't see why he needs comeupance just because he happens to look like someone and has a nickname because of it- but maybe that is just me. Anywhoo- some nice stuff by him in the last set. Hate his new earrings though. Odd to see Grosjean without a cap. Sorry for the shallow post. ;) FedFan_2007 10-31-2007, 04:24 AM Isn't he just called Baby Ali because he looks like a young Cassius Clay? Turquoise 10-31-2007, 05:37 AM I just love Tsonga, even if I do recognise the weaknesses in his game. Good luck against Gasquet! (Funny how most of the French players are bunched up in his part of the draw - taking out each other and dividing the partisan crowd's loyalties.) | |
