Pretty faulty match from Haas with some clown tennis mixed in with his usual sexy backhands and netplay. Not too sure about the dropshots he kept hitting.

Tipsy is pretty annoying with his eye gear and the annoying grunt.

Tipsarevic was a break up at *3-2 in the final set and lost 4 games in a row.

now all others need 2 wins to go past him.

nice comeback from 2-3* in 3rd

Tipsarevic played very good in the second set and had a break in the third. But as many times before he started some ridiculous shots and lost it.

Crap Tipsarevic, you could've had him.

A good exhibition of Racquet abuse in this match and good to see Tipsy finally getting it right at 3-4.

Haas :yeah: He should finally play in Masters Cup.
Haas was lucky at 4:3 (15-30) in the third set when he threw his racquet and didn't touch the ball which was landed "out".

Good escape. Didn't believe he had it in him, and will have to check my recording to see how he managed to rebreak.

Point of the match at 4:3 Haas, 15:30*: Haas is totally out of position and his opponent just needs to put he ball away, but the ball goes out. Haas even threw his rasquet in the direction of the ball (not in Tipsarevic's direction), since he was so sure that he had lost the point. Haas had thrown the racquet after Tipsarevic hit the ball, so no distraction.

Tipsarevic got a point penalty. What was the first warning?

Haas overcame the nerves and is close to Shanghai with this win. Tipsy really blew it in the end, both guys cracked a few racquets in this match.

Tipsarevic smashed 2 racquets, I believe

Maybe but the one at 3-4 was totally mangled and a worthy effort.

That's right.

Janko played very well actually and imo didn't choke in the 3rd but rather Haas played very well.

Yes - the second was was like a sculpture.

But that's what cost him the point penalty, in response to four:love

Tommy is no stranger to coming into Paris with chances at the TMC and lets see if he can make it this time. Good to see him get this win at least.

Considering he wasn't motivated at all this win is good. We'll see if he can finally qualify, though his current shape might not be that great and he'd be one of the weaker guys in Shanghai.

Entertaining match, that's all you can ask for. Well played on both sides.

I want Murray to make Shanghai, but also Boredo not to make it. So it's an okay result for me. And Tipsarevic is an injury faker.

Haasinator would make a competitive field.

Why isn't he motivated?
Doesn't he want to qualify?

Tipsaveric was acting like Haas normally does. weird match from what I have seen. Haas already had the break up in the 2nd, then loses it and gives the tiebreak away with some stupid net attacks against an inspired Tipsaveric. this should've been a good practise session for the 3rd round. Go Tommy.

Why isn't he motivated?
Doesn't he want to qualify? :confused:He gave some interviews in Germany saying it's not so important to him, like here:
Haas exklusiv: "Nicht so geil auf Shanghai" (http://de.eurosport.yahoo.com/30102007/73/masters-paris-haas-exklusiv-geil-shanghai.html)
He says he's not too keen on making another trip to Asia, feels already so tired, the other ones will be better rested than him anyway, so it doesn't make much sense if you go there and are too tired to play, etc....
I don't know if it's just a desesperate attempt to get rid of the pressure or if he really means it.

Oh Janko you've had it and you've let it slip away..
On the other hand, Haas is not the most stable guy when it comes to nerves, is he?

didn't watch it but nice to see him advancing. i'm not really into the math regarding the points for tmc but judging from the comments in this thread, he apparently has quite a shot at it.

nice going tommy, keep it up!

I really hope he's just trying to get rid from the pressure.. If not..:help:

And even tough I don't understan German, thanks for the interview anyway :wavey:

Well there's a good and cryptic thread title.

 I am guessing it has to do with some type of "Pirates of the Caribbean" fantasy involving Haas and Tipsarevic and their explosive temperaments. Interesting... :aplot:

Anyway, when Haas lost the tiebreak it looked like he was going to lose it completely and explode, but it seems Tipsarevic lost it even more .

Well Haas did play well in the points where he actually looked like he cared. There were far too many points in this match where he was way too casual and looked like he couldn't give a fuck if the ball landed out of the stadium.
