He should be in South America and I should be with him but life isn't fair

Vamoos Nico!!

True.

Poor Kid...

He's in Europe all the time (and his fans there see him all the time). It would have been nice if you could have seen him for a change.

Life isn't fair.

Besides the fact that it wasn't a good move on his part.

I know I could sound selfish because I'm the only one who is happy to see him play the quallies :o

I'm sorry he didn't decide to do what you all wanted him to ...But you know he's a big boy, he doesn't need our advice ;)

Nico's draw:

(12) Nicolas Massu (CHI) vs. Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA)
(2) Juan-Martin del Potro (ARG) vs. Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ESP)

I don't know...but there's a chance to reach the MD.

NicoFan
10-26-2007, 08:58 PM
Well Roger-Vallelin (never heard of him) may be doable, and we can hope that JMDP retires as he usually does every other match (I guess he has physical problems as usual...I think wrist? Not sure).

LOVELY
10-26-2007, 09:07 PM
Nico against a Frenchie  Well..I think Alx and I will be the only ones to cheer for Nico
Yes JM has a wrist problem...I like him a lot and I am a bit sad JM has to play against Nico...

JMDP retired in his last tournament. Amazing how a player can retire one tournament with physical problems and then be playing great the next.

20 aces for JMDP.

Is JMDP serving that well or is Nico returning poorly?

NicoFan
10-28-2007, 12:56 PM
It's over.

6-7, 7-6, 6-3 for JMDP.

Oh well...at least he tried.

Poor decision to go to Paris-Bercy, but as I've been told, he's a big boy and can make his own decisions.

Let's hope this big boy can make some good decisions for 2008. Or we'll see a repeat performance of 2007 in 2008. :(

Rest and relaxation??? He barely played any matches in the last 6 months. He needs to work and get ready for 2008. And GET A NEW ... AND GOOD ... COACH.

People on GM are saying Nico could still get in as a LL.

We'll see.

NicoFan
10-28-2007, 01:24 PM
I just read Rosie's post about the match on GM.

While we aren't the best of friends here on GM , she does know tennis and I trust her opinion about what goes on on court. She posted that Nico seemed to lose concentration in the end - didn't seem to believe that he could actually win the match.

Which is why I wanted him to play on the Petrobras Tour. He could have gotten his confidence back up...remembered what it is like to fight and actually win a match.

This isn't doing him any good to keep playing and losing over and over and over again.

Fergie
10-28-2007, 02:32 PM
The same history again

See u the next year Nico

 Well, you got me there Nicofan, he has had very little match time. From all reports he has been practicing a lot though and most likely thinking too much about his loosing streak. Some time off to clear his mind and just enjoy life without any pressure may be good for him.

If he can get in a s LL that would be nice, but I 'm not going to get too excited yet

I'm not going to get excited either. To be honest, it's probably a waste of time.

You're right...he does need some time off to clear his mind.

But he should have done that during this Fall season though. If he takes too much time off now during the offseason to clear his mind, he's not going to be ready for the 2008 season. And there we go again...another sucky season.

He's got to rebuild his team. Takes time to find a new coach...and it especially takes time to find a GOOD new coach. And Papa Massu's track record of getting coaches is poor...(Pato :tape:) so Nico has to figure this one out this time.

EDIT: Kid is right...it's a "moo" point to talk about this. Nico won't make any changes. It will be the same 'ol same 'ol next year. :bigcry: He doesn't seem to care enough to make sacrifices so why talk about it.

I know...it's worthless because he never makes any changes.

I would say we can just follow him and look at his cute face, but since he refuses to leave Europe, I never get to see his cute face. And I'm tired of following a live ticker...the excitement of watching numbers move is just too much at times. ;)

So whatever...when he decides to come to the U.S. for his 2 tournaments a year that I can see, I'll follow him then.

Kid - look at your email. Though I'm not that excited about it - won't be that much to report.

saturday match report :
Roger-Vasselin served and returned well and Nico played well. That was not easy, there was a big big atmosphere, the audience were cheering a lot for Roger-Vasselin (except Lovely, I and 2 Chileans :p)

sunday match report : nothing to add to Lovely report. Big serves of JM, his serve was almost impossible to return most of time. Nico played well unless he made a few UEs in the 3rd set (maybe a little of fatigue ?). Nico was very motivated and he improved his game a lot since I saw him in Amersfoort

Fashion report :
Nico played with a sleaveless shirt
