How will the game evolve in 10 years time?

90s was mainly the decade of S&V...Now it's more about being solid from the baseline. Very few players go to the net. Most are comfortable just hitting the ground strokes from the back. S&V is pretty much dead. What do you thing the game will be like in 10 years from now? Are we gonna have slower courts and will the game become even more physical than it is now? What do you all think?

The transitional game will become more prominent and the use of court will overall be more balanced. It won't be too different from today's game, but I think we'll see gradual changes in the addition of variety.

Both sexes will play topless, the women in bikini bottoms and the men in skin-tight lycra cycling shorts.

All ballspeople and line judges will be clueless topless models.

The balls will be softer so as not to create unsightly bruises if a player gets hit.

If a player hits a let cord 3 times while attempting to serve, the net will be lowered 6 inches if the player is in the top 50. If outside the top 50, it will be made higher by the same amount.

If a top 5 player is losing at the end of the second set, a champions tie-break will be used with the top 5 player being allowed to serve 3 times against the opponent's two.
If the top 5 player is winning, that is the end of the match.

As well as calling a trainer when a player needs a rest, they will be permitted to call hairdressers and make-up artists to keep them looking good.

i think we'll see more players with Nadal's style.

there'll be more initiatives to make tennis popular with all the decline, so i think having more tourneys like madrid with their ballgirls will happen.

:wavey:
i think it`s more likely we`ll see a generation of FED clones [rather than RAFA clones]
of course FED`s style is not easy to replicate, but the kiddies will do their best to be the next Jesus:angel:

but fed's style is like ancient 1950s style with the slice backhand and long pants at wimby.

FED can also do the topspin drive backhand;)
...anyway the single handed backhand has clearly made a renaissance:cool:

Roger`s long white pants, vest etc. @ Wimby, is however, his alone:p
*the kids want to play like FED, & dress like RAFA:devil:

Indoor tennis will cease to exist, as no roof will be high enough to accommodate the groundstrokes.

Shanghai AMS & Madrid AMS will become pseudo slams~~ prizemoney & points equal to the slams!
***
#The ATP will rename these events `Shanghai World Championships` & `Madrid World Championships`.
In response the ITF will set up ridiculous bonus systems for the slams:
#win 2 slams & it`s worth $5 million bonus, 3 slams worth $10 million bonus & 4 slams `THE SLAM` worth $20 million.

#hawkeye will expand & the umpire will be obsolete.

#AO matches will all be played 10pm-6am to accomodate European & American TV audiences.

#rackets will be specified to be smaller [like squash rackets] to make it harder for players to use brute force.

#slams won`t play a 5th set: at 2-sets all they`ll have a super tie-break [1st to 10pts].

#India will become a tennis powerhouse in the mens & China in the womens.

#USO will be the only significant tourney played in America [Miami, Indian Wells etc. will be defunct].

#FO will use sythetic clay made from recycles plastics.

#Dubai will offer prizemoney of $10 million to the winner, but only the try-hards will show up.

#The WTF championships will move back to China [Beijing].

#Roger Federer will become president of the United Nations & Tiger Woods will be running for election in the U.S.

#Rafael Nadal will open a special hospital for burnt out athletes [Jelena Dokic will do likewise for the women].

#Novak Djokovic will have his own late night talk show in America.

#Maria Sharapova will become an actress and attempt to revive the Basic Instinct franchise [it`ll get the raspbery].

#Justin Henin will become a one women soldier [the female RAMBO] & work in the Middle East.

#Lleyton Hewitt will be kicking arse on the seniors tour [his rivals will be JCF & Fat Dave].

#Andy Roddick will become a French national & be a bald executive for a sports goods manufacturer.

#Marat Safin will be an influential member of the World Wildlife Fund.

Players will wear vague Federer and Nadal masks that are pale and one tone in colour... similar to the mask Tom Cruise wears in Vanilla Sky but you can tell they are supposed to represent Federer and Nadal. Also most rackets will come equipped with snazzy neon lights or hologaphic fire/lightning effects.

Ballet tennis will extinct and there will be a great increase of Spartans :)
The courts will have to be bigger because of standing 8m behind the baseline and hitting huge topspins. :) Nobody will remember what does a word "volley" mean.

I really hope that on WTA they will learn how to serve and stop brainless ball bashing. I would to see more variety there.

Balls will be set on fire and the last person who struck it causing the fire to go out wins the point. Dragonball/Mario tennis style

Got to appeal to the fans market! -Yours truly, Disney.

I dont know but im sure they will still be Tard wars with ppl saying things like "[player X] would have stood no chance against Federer 10 years ago" "this is a clown era compared to the greats Federer had to beat like Davydenko, Robredo, Isner, Lopez, Starace, Mahut, Berrer" "Xristos would have beaten him"

Federer will no longer bet there, Rafa will be old and feeble which means that the grand slams will be fun again.

Actually, NASA plans to put up a base on the Moon in 20 years, so in time we could have an indoor (naturally super fast) tennis tournament there. It would be awesome and promote space tourism and tennis in equal way.
