Fabrice first tournament was in 1988. He is the only player on the tour who has played opponents such Yannich Noah, Boris Becker and YES Jimmy Connors. Can you believe there is a player on the tour who played Jimmy. In 1992, Fabrice beat Connors in Vienna 3-6 7-6(2) 6-3Think about there is a player still on the your who played someone who first match was in 1970. WOW. Here is the link for the stats of this match

Lleyton Hewitt played Boris Becker...in the third round of Wimbledon in 1999. Boris won in straight sets, it was his last ever tournament!

Hasn't Santoro retired like six times already?

The clichée about maturing like good red wine hardly ever fitted better. Fabrice made the most of his possibilities, by developing his very own style of playing tennis as he is not tall/powerful enough for the modern game. I will miss his tennis, when he finally retires, but to my knowledge he announced that he would continue in 2008.

Waw.. i really don't remember Kriek playing in 1991 !
Losing to kriek and Noah few weeks later must have been good for the confidence :p

I have deep respect for Santoro. He has unique style of play, and proves that even "older" players on the tour can still win a tournament, even today.

And his match outfits are simply brilliant (really!). :worship:

Hopefully Fab will line up a decent partner to start next year with. I think there must be a lot of doubles players out there who would be thrilled to partner the magician. :worship:
