classic Jakke :worship: not playing well, but winning on raw fighting spirit

How many mp's saved? Atleast 1 or 2, I'm not sure which...

Good stuff Ginepri and Nieminen picked the right player to come back against, just hope he can finish the year strongly.

Ginepri has lost 2nd time a match despite so comfortable advantage. In Rome 2004 he was leading 7-5 5:1 against Mantilla and lost 7-5 5-7 0-6 after wasting 4 match points.

1 on his own serve at *5-2

What are Jarkko's mp's saved/wasted stats after this? :)

one week he is forcing Federer into a tie break, and then he comes back to playing his brainless tennis. he kind of reminds me of myself when I'm on court.

It was actually 6-3, I forgot about Jarkko's choke against Todd Martin in Indian Wells 2004. The other two defeats of Nieminen after wasting MP -> Safin (1 mp) & Moodie (4 mp).

Now it's 7-3 because one day after win over Ginepri, Nieminen beat Canas, saving two match points.

i remember that Moodie match where he wasted 4 match points, i think it was after his great come back against Srichaphan

and you are missing one defeat after wasting mp, it was in Madrid 2003 against Gaudio when served for the match but Gaudio played very well that game and saved that mp with a nice backhand down the line winner

Could you give me some Internet source? For example in this info nothing about saving MP:

Nieminen aprovechó la única rotura de servicio al suramericano para sellar el primer set a su favor, 6-3, y prolongó su buen tenis en el arranque de la segunda manga situándose a sólo dos juegos de cerrar el duelo. Pero fue a partir de ese momento cuando el jugador bonaerense dio un golpe de autoridad y recondujo la situación. Se adjudicó el segundo set, 7-5, y terminó con las opciones del finlandés en el tercero, donde se impuso por 6-2 en el set definitivo.

Sorry, I don't believe you.
I've got also a fragment from an interview with Nieminen after this match and he didn't tell anything about match point:
"I was pretty confident. I held all my service games until 5-3 in the second -- then I might have been too passive. I was serving for the match at 5-4, he started playing with more accuracy. He didn't miss anything, he played a good game. Suddenly at five-all, you never know what can happen."

Maybe you're right but maybe you remember a breakpoint (mini-matchpoint) at 5:5 for Jarkko
