This will truly be a battle of the minds.

You can just picture the poker faces. The challenge for these guys will be to retire before the other one does, but one can't retire prematurely - that would look suspicious. It must be subtle, appropriate, dramatic. There needs to be a perfect game plan worked out.

My money is on Davydenko to retire - he'll pull it off brilliantly, leaving Volandri's in the dust. Volandri will be a defeated man, having to tolerate another match with a much lighter wallet. Davydenko will be bumming in St. Pete's with the ladies, his pockets full of mafia cash.

Cyborg is just right . Things will get really ugly out there . I can´t help but imagine a situation like this :
Volandri to Lahyani : I´d like to call the trainer Mohammed
Davydenko to Lahyani : Me too !!!
Volandri to Lahyani : I called it first !!! I retire !!!
Davydenko to Voladri : Listen Pippo there are 6 guys out there with AK-47 full of ammnutition . You´d better win this match .
Volandri to Davydenko : I understand your situation FIXERenko but the truth is that I did bet my house on you .
At the end of this surreal situation both will call it quits and the organization will give O.Hernandez a WC ........

Clearly Davydenko and "the family" caught on to the circulating rumours of a fix in the Volandri match and wisely altered the course, postponing the inevitable retirement until later in the year. Naturally Davydenko played at his personal best, grudgingly handing out two breadsticks to the overjoyed Volandri.

All in all, very smart tactics by PMK and "the family" - they know full well that they must be subtle from now on, because MTF is fully onto them. Expect the next fix to come unexpectedly.

Davydenko got snubbed in the "FEEL IT" campaign - the mafia dons will not be pleased.

Frankly I don't understand why they left out the old boy. Just imagine the juicy poster of Davydenko revving into a crosscourt forehand, as the ball explodes off it in a firey bonfire of counterfeit money and burning evidence of betting scams. Aesthetically pleasing no matter how you look at it.

And then the fire turns into Ion Tiriac's head.

Davydonkey took time away from shifting his own guilt and blaming everything on Murray in this gambling scandel, to actually win a match.

he'll throw one soon before getting smashed in the final by Muzza.

If there is a Kolya and Murray match, it will be interesting.

Brilliant strategy again from Davydenko. He purposefully tanks a match to Cilic in style and then gets called for a lack of effort. The rub here? There was clearly no betting involved this time.

Why is this a brilliant strategy? What we have here is some old fashioned reverse psychology from PMK and "the family". In having Davydenko throw a match in such obvious fashion they are making it seem like Davydenko natually chokes away matches, creating a manufactured pattern of early leads and big-time flameouts.

Clearly the mafia boys are thinking on their feet. They make the Davychoke a usual occurence and then when we least expect it they place the bet that makes them millions.

The fake tears were the icing on the cake. Nikolai Davydenko? More like Laurence Olivier.
