Admit it folks a thread like this was gonna pop up eventually. Heck, I'll save someone else the trouble and post it. With all the Dave is back talk, it's a legit question. So what do you think?
And yeah I say none by the way...

It would be great if he would one because he has great game, but if it hadn't happen until now, it wouldn't happen in 2008 (And his ranking isn't high=Tough draw)

Maybe he'll win Estoril.

In a more serious note (because as we know MTF is a forum for serious debate) USO 2003 and AO 2006 were his biggest chances to win a major.

6 Slams for David next year. He will win all the 4 slams and also win Miami and Madrid, both of which should be slams anyway.

9 - AO, FO, W, USO, Olympics, Miami, Madrid, Davis Cup, YEC. This will put him ahead of Lendl, Agassi and Connors on all-time list

Almost certainly Nil.

I expect Gasquet to do better than Nalbandian next year, but neither will win a grand slam next year.

But he has had chances. US Open 2003 and Roland Garros 2004 before Federer and Nadal.

yes i know, and he was injured both times specially with Roddick with an abdominal and wrist injury

plus he is playing in this era which is really very competitive and has the likely best player ever -Federer- and -one of the best claycourter ever -Nadal-.

My main hope is that he is injury free and maintains his motivation for 2008. Then gets back to the top 5.

No question he has the ability to win a slam but does he have the attitude or the belief?

I have to admit I really thought he would win the AO 2006 but he was again beaten by a player who wanted it more. The AO 2005 was an even more extreme example of this. He was well prepared for RG 2006 and arguably playing his best ever tennis but then another injury.

As far as I can see it really has less to do with Federer and Nadal and more to do with himself.

Wow I was being sarcastic, but after today I must say, respect for the fat man. This win will surely motivate him and make him believe he CAN play at his best again. I know the same stuff was said after his TMC win, but who knows. I think it will be difficult for him to win a Slam next year, but after today things are certainly serious. The guy can challenge Federer big time...

I'd like quarterfinals or better at the slams, plus an Olympic medal in some fashion. That'd be :hearts:

Most of Nalbandian's career has been to do with himself, either his mentality or his body letting him down for various reasons. I hope for his sake he can win a slam soon cos with his talent it would just be a waste to never win one really. Its not too late for him still, but he needs to get his act together soon.

I think he can but probably won't. David is cool and certainly like him more than the players that the commentators and journalist try to tout as the next one to take Federer down.

Nalby probably just needed some cash to mod his race car.

don't expect him to play well again until he needs more money.
