Delpo was completely out of gas, physically and mentally. Nalbi didn't play that well, just enough to get the job done. Now we may finally get to see the Nadal-Nalbi matchup, unless Murray has other plans.

He takes it. His meeting with Nadal would be a fuckin highlight, so as with Murray (but smaller)
Seems like Nalby decided to end eating donuts and banging girls and play some tennis instead

is a Nadal-Nalbi matchup really that enticing?

Murray-Nadal on the other hand...

David-Rafa would be great, normally, but seeing as neither is at his respective best, it somehow doesn't sound like the real stuff. I want a 100% David vs. 100% Rafa, that'd be some match.

Del Pony = Gasquet 2.

David cruised through the 1st set, but the latter stages of the 2nd set made nervous viewing. Thankfully David won to reach his 2nd quarter-final of the year, and he fill face either Murray or Nadal in the last 8.

Actually I think he got rather lucky this tournament so far. He barely beat Clement, who honestly has seen better days. Then Birdshit handed him the choke of the week. And now Delpo has nothing left in the tank, after finishing and exhausting match well past midnight. Still, it's good to see him at the later stages of tournaments again. I believe 2008 will be a much better year for him.

when they shaked hands at the net Del potro said Nalbandian: "estoy hecho mierda" translated is something like i am destroyed

likely he was speaking about his tireness by playing so late in such

a hard match against Robredo

Good Job David :yeah:

Del Potro was a little sluggish but seemed to play better in the second set. Still, Nalby got the job done.

Then first fat Dave would have to lose some 30-40%, as he's like way over 100% now.

Weird match and poor commentary from the booth over at TTC. The American dude was clueless and overdramatic as always, but I expected more out of...Simon Reed is it? He did have a few excellent David fat jokes, though. Absolutely no chemistry between the two. Very awkward to listen to. :tape:

David played fairly well, much better than I've seen him play most of 2007. Backhand is strong as always, serving well, and he didn't hit too many awful forehands. He needs matches and he's getting them.

Great week, Dave. :) I hope he can take down Murray or Nadal.

Nice to see David having a good tournament- it is about time, shesh. I wish Del Potro could have had more in the tank- but I was happy to see that he improved his sluggishness (and mopiness) in the second set. Part of his trouble this year imo has been that he just gives up- and I was glad that he gave more of a fight in the second set.

Nice exchange at the net between the two as well. :)

It would have been Doug Adler and Jason Goodall I believe.

Proper schooling by Argentina's finest.

Nalbandian has more talent in his little finger than Del-Pony has in his entire body.

In Poland we've got a proverb that you always have to help your luck :) I've seen this match and I must say the backhnad worked really fine, that's why I came up with such an opinion

Hope Nalbandian starts showing his class again. Of course most Argentine fanboys have written him off already but smarter ones haven't.

Yes i heard those too.

I can't remember exactly what he said it was something about how unfortunate it was that Nalby's diet in between matches was solely Mcdonalds. :worship:

A cable channel called star sports broadcasts the AMS in our region in asia and i think i heard the same thing too from the commentator about mcdonald's being david's diet.
