And this is why the return of the neon yellow shorted-wonder to a TMS event is truly worthy of praise, because he gets big scalps! Unbroken the entire match, his second win over Ljubicic indoors after Basel almost three years ago.

Congrats to El Fashionista for another excellent victory. The guy rocks, and his presence in last 16 is brilliant for the tournament.

 what a mug this Ljubicic is.

Those last 2 points were worse than you see at a public tennis court, woeful volley and forehand.

Many were expecting a Ljubicic-Ferrer match, including me, and now we get a rematch of Koubek-Lopez from last week in Vienna. Can Special K return the favour and beat Lopez in front of his home crowd?

Please put "Mugicic" in thread title instead of "Ljubicic" Thanks :)

:haha: Now wait for Ducky to come and tell us that if Ljubo had converted that break point at (insert part of the match here) the match would have eneded otherwise.
:haha: :haha: Keep it up Baldy.

He's not the first famous tyrant to fall from grace, look where Attila the Hun is now compared to his Top 100 journeyman status about five years ago.

That was a truly terrible performance by Ljubicic. It makes me sad that someone had to lose the Djokovic - Verdasco match whilst either of them would've steamrolled either of these guys the way they played.

Who..??

Attila Savolt (HUN). When Henman returned to the tour at the start of 2003 he first lost to Ljubicic in Rotterdam, then to Savolt in Dubai, which prompted me to make my lame "Bad luck Tim, first you draw Ivan the Terrible, then Attila the Hun" joke, now recycled here. ;)

Ivan is,unfortunately, done.I don't think he will ever win a tournament again or do something special in future.Yes,this was terrible, most of the year was terrible, and it seems while others are peaking at his age (Ivo :) ),he is all downhill from this point.Well, that's tennis.
But when I remember the way he played in Madrid 2 years ago, that makes me sad.

He had never expected to become world #3 and to make it to 2 YECs in a row. For a couple of years he lived his wildest dreams and despite his relatively limited success at the Slams he was a top player par excellence.

it's pretty funny the way someone like Safin can keep a massive fan base after playing atrocious tennis for a couple of years no but when Ljubicic has a couple of bad months even his country men seem to completely desert him

I don't like Ivan at all but he still is in the race for YEC and people are telling him to retire :o

Great for the game and Attila Savolt what a man he lead Australia along with Noszaly to Australia's first ever World Group relegation.

Time for Koubek to turn around that LaLo result and finally he will be on centre court.
