Nole d. Verdasco 2 sets to 1

(Running away from both purposeless obsessive-compulsive tidiness of purportedly biblical importance AND purposeless stubborn refusal to admit one's own shortcomings.)

Nole's brain was all over the place for a good set and a half, but then in some key moments he mustered up brilliant moves in order to secure the breaks. Obviously far from his maximum performance, but hey, sometimes you win matches by refusing to lose them.

Now go for JCF's throat, kid :)

The first sentence is not grammatically correct. Let's make this a grammar thread!!!

10-17-2007, 08:28 PM
By the way, what is the point in this thread?

Bit late isn't it?

10-17-2007, 08:32 PM
Unfortunately, that title isn't going to make it any better. Someone who has been at work all day and comes here for the score might wonder if Verdasco retired. How about 2 sets to 1?

Burrow, I think the other thread is going to be locked, so this one might be salvaged as a legitimate match thread, but I doubt it. :)

10-17-2007, 08:35 PM
Yes, it probably will be locked, cause people, me included, retaliated against that guy...

There is probably only about 20% of the posts in that thread about the match!

I want to see the replay of this match, I missed the bit where Nole hit the ballgirl. Did he do it on purpose so he would have an excuse for a quick snog?

10-17-2007, 08:39 PM
 I hardly watched any of the match, I was flicking between matches, until the second set when Verdasco had break point and squandered it, was it after that?

I'd like to have seen that too

lol, that was very funny. I was worried about her, but she was fine.

Do you remember when it was?

Do you remember when it was?

Sorry, I don't.

Yes, right said, Farenhajt, and good to move away from the same rubbish I read over and over again on MTF.
Well, Burrow, you said something about "Nole's fans are all the same" (in bad way), once I said you're my buddy. And get back that nice avatar you had before.

The only good thing about the result is that Nole will most probably send JCF packing tomorrow while Verdasco could lose lamely. The match really epitomizes Nando's career, a long list of missed opportunities. Especially dramatic was losing that break chance at 3-3 in the 3rd set, an easy forehand dumped in the net. To nobody's surprise, Nole broke in the next game.

For me, the ONLY real positive: Darth Cheater FINALLY received a time warning after his incessant ball bouncing. Let the scrutiny begin...

Verdasco is a mental midget of the highest order. Djokovic may have lost the first set, but at least he had the balls to go for it. Was almost laughable how tight Fernando became on those set points.

fer is one of the biggest clowns of all time. Instead of having nalbandian, safin and verdasco in the top 10, we have robredo, davydenko and blake. The dice rolled the wrong way for some players in this generation.

10-18-2007, 04:56 AM
How disappointing it was when Verdasco couldn't take any break point.

10-18-2007, 08:38 AM
:yeah: for the Spanish crowd.

 for Novak's another refusal to lose.

Nole awesome killed a hot ball girl, the bastard!!!

Nole hitting the ball girl.
