I think ATP have double standard in punishment for every players

Because since Malisse was fined and suspended one month for his violation in Miami 2005, so Koubek should get fined and suspended at least two months (because he made the violation in Roland Garros 2000 and this year of Metz)! It alikes a soccer player if they get a red card to send off in previous match for any serious violation, they will get suspension in next one match. :o

ATP should treat equally without discrimination!!

What do you think?

A bunch of monkies on typewriters would do a better job than the guy in charge of the ATP.

Which, in an infinite number of universes, we wouldn't have this problem :)

I agree. Sadly, the ATP isn't about tennis, it's about money. Tennis always takes a back seat.

I don't agree with this, it would be bad if the ATP had a mandatory harsh sentence irrespective of the case details. Koubek's case seems to have a lot do with the pride and arrogance of a tournament supervisor, would it be fair for him to be suspended for months because of him?

Anyone who has seen the video of the Malisse incident knows it was pretty bad, and the difference in punishment is not illogical.

Malisse wasn't just verbally abusive, he was also physically intimidating to a linejudge and the officials, and generally acted like he was out of control.

I don't believe Koubek, for all his use of language, went anywhere near that far, hence the difference in punishment.

Yes, there are double standards. Andre spitted and swore his way to titles with few/minimal fines. I bet Vince Spadea with the same antics would have been at a huge loss. Nothing against Andre btw, but it does highlight the problem.

The ATP does seem to discriminate but I dont think Malisse and Koubek are good examples. Their punishments were justified, especially Malisses.

Are you sure about that?A $22,000 fine for screaming at the linewoman and kicking a chair over.

Get real bjurra.

Your description of the events is incorrect. He threw a ball at the lineswoman and smashed a racket next to Bradshaws head. If you think that behaviour is similar to Koubeks "fuck off" murmel, then YOU need to get real.

Of course there are double standards.
