"You are costing me money"

That's gotta be the wimpiest complaint to an umpire ever.

He needs Roddick to give him Umpire-baiting lessons.

Where's the "shall we call your oculist now or after I lost this match?" quips?

Americans don't like playing outside of America, they get paranoid and think everyone is out to get them.

Blake :yeah: I loved this one, that's something new!

as for the umpire mistakes, I also hate shit happening and screwing results up and indeed there is a lot on stake. Not only in tennis, but in many other popular sports as well where one call can change everything and be responsible for a turnaround of much $$$

I don't even know what this is supposed to mean.

Both James and Mardy have completely lost their minds this week. Take a vacation, guys. :cuckoo:

So Mardy gets stick for swearing, and James gets stick for not swearing?

How exactly would the collective genius of MTF like the players to appropriately express their displeasure to chair umpires (which they are allowed to do)? Take a racquet to the courtside chair?

I have no problem with what James said, but his loss for not paying more attention to his game and looking for excuses. On the other hand, yay Mario! :)

James will always be critised around here no matter what he does. That's one of MTF's rules, it seems. And even when he does well and behaves accordingly to those so called MTF rules, there's still something bad to say about him.

I laugh sometimes, it becomes funny after a while. Cause it's pretty much always the same people.

Can we all agree to let jcempire have a pass on this please? English is not his first language (obviously) and I wish he wouldn't get stick for it. I have no problem when people go after the content of his posts, but not the grammar.

I know, but jcempire's errors are special in their own way. I just feel kind of bad for him sometimes. I know if I ever tried to post on a French forum, no one would have any clue what I was saying.

Right then, enough of my public service announcement. :)

Back to bashing James.

The Americans should all take a cue from the one and only Taylor Dent, who, when being utterly thrashed by Roddick at the 2004 AO heard someone shout out "C'mon Taylor, I paid a lot of money for these seats!", to which he shot back instantly, "This is costing me a lot in pride too!"

it was a nice accomplishment for blake to go to Harvard. But some make the mistake that blake is a smart guy because he went to Harvard for a short while. This is not the case.

He is probably below average for a guy at harvard, and isn't that much smarter than anyone on this board.

Clearly Blake and the umpire (who was it again?) are having a secret hot affair. The umpire though is really high maintainance, asking for flowers and dinners in expensive restaurants all the time. During a changeover he reminded James that his birthday is coming up and that he has set his sights on a watch from the Cartier love collection ;). He couldn't have picked a worse time though  (the way the match was going) and James understandably blurted out that sentence. Luckily people didn't understand its real meaning...

i have to agree. although i admire Blake in some respects because he certainly hasn't had the smoothest ride, i do get the feeling he's very fond of himself. A lot of different people who know him say he's a great guy though so perhaps he just comes across in the wrong way.

and going to Harvard doesn't automatically make you a genius. Blake had the package anyone college would want to grab - good looking, clean cut, mixed race, great athlete.

An incoherent statement, James either had a point or he did not, in both cases it is irrelevant how much money the win here (and the opportunity cost associated with the increase of the probability of qualifying for the TMC) is worth.
