Because he waved his manhood infront of the madrid crowd after he beat nadal. adynadal 10-16-2007, 09:16 PM Spaniards are passionate people, they get mad easily but so do they forget...i hope at least that they won`t effect on his game this year as they did in the semi last year... cmurray 10-16-2007, 09:17 PM Don't chimps carry diseases, im sure berdych wouldn't want to get ill :p Now be nice. Byrd 10-16-2007, 09:22 PM Now be nice. Sowwy  DwyaneWade 10-16-2007, 09:26 PM They should give him the homecoming he deserves  Allure 10-16-2007, 09:27 PM Berdych should spank Nadal's ass in front of his home crowd as a gesture of apology. cmurray 10-16-2007, 09:28 PM Sowwy  You're forgiven. Svetlana. 10-16-2007, 10:27 PM Does anyone have a clip from last year? scarecrows 10-16-2007, 10:31 PM Does anyone have a clip from last year? highlights http://youtube.com/watch?v=CoHCVPN_TDE the shtttt http://youtube.com/watch?v=FPUFTajFu1g Rrrainer 10-16-2007, 10:37 PM the shtttt http://youtube.com/watch?v=FPUFTajFu1g :D fun stuff, didn't watch it last year. seems like he watched too many of stepanek's matches. ;) Svetlana. 10-16-2007, 10:40 PM highlights http://youtube.com/watch?v=CoHCVPN_TDE the shtttt http://youtube.com/watch?v=FPUFTajFu1g Thanks for the links. I did not see anything really inappropriate coming from Berdych. He did what many players want to do when the crowd is against you. It's actually very brave of him! ;) Rrrainer 10-16-2007, 11:52 PM Thanks for the links. I did not see anything really inappropriate coming from Berdych. He did what many players want to do when they the crowd is against you. It's actually very brave of him! ;) he did the "sshht"-thing also in düsseldorf at the wtc this year when he crushed kohlschreiber. Henry Chinaski 10-17-2007, 12:00 AM they seemed to have forgiven ginepri for his \m/ heavy metal tribute GlennMirnyi 10-17-2007, 12:25 AM As we know pretty well how Spaniards behave, expect the worst. DwyaneWade 10-17-2007, 12:30 AM That is pretty racist and intolerant to say the least... You reap what you sow and props to Berdych for standing up to the crowd, now let's see if he is tough enough to handle the response. Merton 10-17-2007, 01:40 AM It depends on how the Spanish press will remind the crowd of the incident last year. It will be interesting to see. Sunset of Age 10-17-2007, 01:43 AM I hope they aren't jerks. I'm not fond of Berdych, but I don't like to see a player mistreated by an entire crowd. My thoughts exactly. Raf and Tomás have dealt with this incident between the both of them. No problems there anymore. Hope the Madrid crowd will be able to show just as much of mature behaviour as the players they claim to be a fan of! Corey Feldman 10-17-2007, 01:47 AM Like the hero he is :worship: Berdy "SShhhhhhh shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!" :worship: :haha: ReturnWinner 10-17-2007, 01:54 AM i do not think he will be noted very much scoobs 10-17-2007, 11:53 AM He just emerged onto Alcala and they're booing the hell out of him. MariaV 10-17-2007, 12:26 PM He just emerged onto Alcala and they're booing the hell out of him. Oooh, those hot-tempered Spanish people, that's not very nice. :o I hope he'll be able to cope with it. scoobs 10-17-2007, 12:29 PM They're leaving him alone now - but I get the feeling that if he puts a toe out of line they will be on his ass like there's no tomorrow. Rogiman 10-17-2007, 12:30 PM C'mon Tomas, give the finger to the fascists. cmurray 10-17-2007, 12:31 PM They're leaving him alone now - but I get the feeling that if he puts a toe out of line they will be on his ass like there's no tomorrow. God help him if he ends up playing Nadal again, though. Because if the crowd is booing him it means they are not going to let bygones be bygones. They aren't showing this match on TTC stebs 10-17-2007, 12:32 PM Far more applause for Nalbandian than for Berdych. cmurray 10-17-2007, 12:35 PM Far more applause for Nalbandian than for Berdych. I don't mind that as long as they aren't actively booing him. THAT I don't like. Thanks for the updates. scarecrows 10-17-2007, 12:37 PM berdman doesnt care and wins the set after going 1 break down :rocker2: stebs 10-17-2007, 12:38 PM Deadly silence when Berdych wins a point via a Nalby error but the opposite is not true. No more than a spattering of applause as Berydych takes the set. Or Levy 10-17-2007, 12:38 PM Man, I'm watching this match on mute from work. Can't hear the booing. Castafiore 10-17-2007, 12:43 PM Far more applause for Nalbandian than for Berdych. Deadly silence when Berdych wins a point via a Nalby error but the opposite is not true. No more than a spattering of applause as Berydych takes the set. And the problem is...? As long as they're not booing anybody for something that happened a year ago, I don't see what the problem is or even why this is worthy of a mention other the MTF'ers begging for more drama probably. Metis 10-17-2007, 12:44 PM Man, I'm watching this match on mute from work. Can't hear the booing. Even if you didn't have it on mute you wouldn't hear any booing. cmurray 10-17-2007, 12:45 PM Even if you didn't have it on mute you wouldn't hear any booing. Don't ruin it for him, Metis. ;) Seriously, I think its fine to cheer more for Nalby. Its the booing that's awful. shotgun 10-17-2007, 12:58 PM Madrid is full of Argentinians anyway, it's expected that Nalbandian gets more support. Rogiman 10-17-2007, 01:00 PM Doesn't seem like the crowd manages to give Bandy a major boost there  Metis 10-17-2007, 01:00 PM Don't ruin it for him, Metis. ;) Seriously, I think its fine to cheer more for Nalby. Its the booing that's awful. It's funny too how some people would prefer to see Berdych behave like he did last year. Fortunately it seems that he has learnt his lesson :yeah:. Allure 10-17-2007, 01:01 PM Madrid crowd as classy at the USO crowd during an American match stebs 10-17-2007, 01:05 PM And the problem is...? I'm sorry that you seem to have taken your own completely random interpretation. I never said there was a problem, people wanted to know what was happening so I told them. mangoes 10-17-2007, 01:07 PM Even if you didn't have it on mute you wouldn't hear any booing. I think the cheering for Nalby is coming from his home people. Nice crowd and they're even clapping for Berdych. Madrid crowd as classy at the USO crowd during an American match      Clara Bow 10-17-2007, 01:33 PM The more the match goes on, it seems the more the crowd is clapping for Berdych. Nalby still gets more applause, which I would expect- but the crowd is recognizing Tomas' good play more. Castafiore 10-17-2007, 01:46 PM Your words are open to interpretation, Stebs, esp. compared with the observations of others. Deadly silence when Berdych wins a point via a Nalby error but the opposite is not true. No more than a spattering of applause as Berdych takes the set. It's good to read - from other posters - that the crowd is warming up to Berdych. I'm stuck staring at the SB. Thanks for the updates! scoobs 10-17-2007, 01:58 PM Crowd have been very fair, actually, in complete contrast to their initial welcome mangoes 10-17-2007, 01:59 PM The more the match goes on, it seems the more the crowd is clapping for Berdych. Nalby still gets more applause, which I would expect- but the crowd is recognizing Tomas' good play more. I'm personally "booooooing" Berdych's play in the second set that resulted in him losing it:o :o Now, he's in a fight in the 3rd. I like Nalby, but I think it's time for Berdych to begin winning these type of matches. Clara Bow 10-17-2007, 02:13 PM The crowd even gave Berdych a decent hand when he left the court- contrast to the booing he received when he arrived. It does seem that through the course of the match, bye gones did become bye gones. Or Levy 10-17-2007, 02:25 PM Pity Berdych became bye gones as well. mangoes 10-17-2007, 02:54 PM The crowd even gave Berdych a decent hand when he left the court- contrast to the booing he received when he arrived. It does seem that through the course of the match, bye gones did become bye gones. Completely agree. These "byes" for the top players have been working against them. Sunset of Age 10-17-2007, 04:10 PM After his pathetic performance I daresay that Berdych deserved a little booing right left and center... | |
