everyone seems to be thinking 2 [including me]!
the question is `which 2`?

ideally I`d like to see FED winning AO & FO, then his dominance broken @ Wimby & USO.
of course Wimby & USO suit FED`s game the best, though it`ll be interesting to see how he handles the new surface @ AO...

i don`t mind FED winning lots of slams but I`d rather the Wimby/USO dominance be broken!!
also Roger`s running out of chances to win FO, so hope he can win it once!

3 or 4 if he can finally improves his confidence over Nadal.

Why is zero not an option? I think he'll win two, but zero ought to be an option!

LocoPorElTenis

Agree, zero should be an option. IMO, zero is more likely than four, though I also think two is most likely.

0 should be an option. Like I said after the 2007 AO, Federer might never win another slam.

GOLDEN SLAM

Rafa = Fed Killa

Zero. Djokovic takes them all.

Chokovic would choke after being up two sets to love and 5-0.

Federer wins 2. Nadal will take RG and Wimby.

I can't see him losing in New York - so at LEAST 1. And he'll probably add either Wimby or the AO to that as well. I'm thinking we're going to have a new Wimby champion though. So I'll say 2 - AO and USO.

boring = any year that Feds wins more slams than Rafa?

jk. I'm just speaking realistically. I don't see him losing the USO next year. He's just too tough there.

Yes, I agree, if there is any justice, that guy who was soooo close those 2 last finals has to take the title next year... :worship: :o

I agree. I think he takes either Wimbledon or the USO but a combination of Murray, Djokovic, and Nadal (not in that order) splits the other 3.

Murray's no where near ready to take a slam.
I say 2.
By the way, a few of you guys seem to think it's easier to beat
him at wimbledon than New York. Reasons?

Murray is closer than you think. Look how quickly Djokovic ascended this year; Murray was right with him in the spring US HC season (winning San Jose, SFs at both Indian Wells and Miami) and was just slightly behind him.

If you say Murray against Nadal at the AO and against chela today we are starting to see signs that great things are due for him (barring injuries) and I think he will be the 4th biggest threat at the majors overall next year.

Roger is simply so dominant on HCs that it is hard to imagine anyone winning 3 out of 5 against him; the faster surface helps him and the sure bounce brings out the best in his forehand. On grass I presume the belief is that Nadal can challenge him more so than any player at the USO.

After a lot of painstaking research and analysis I've come to the conclusion that the ATP take away all of his slams because they were won in a clown era against chokers.

More seriously, if he does win at least two, he'll be the first player to win at least 2 in 5 consecutive years.

Wimbledon. Nadal is better on grass than hard. Simple question really. Nole isnt quite ready to beat Roger in a slam.

Rogi might well be the BEST TENNIS PLAYER ever (Raf thinks so too, BTW - it says so on his site - :worship: and rightly so!), and I really like to see him beat Sampras' record, yeah.

Yes, I rooted for Rogi at the USO, and was sad to see Raf lose because of his injury, as I hoped to see both of 'em in the final over there. It's quite simple to me - I hope EITHER of them wins the title, wherever they appear. The same for Madrid.

how many threads will there be on the topic of how many slams will Federer win in 2008???

2, I said..

Djok will take one of USO and AO.

Glass one will belong to Roger.

Nadal will take FO for 150000% sure

But maybe other Young guys will come out to beat Roger. I'm not so sure.

Great young players are keep going up

Only if he gets easy draw like 2006 and gets lucky against injured players like 2007.

Highly unlikely.
