Koubek was leading 5-0 in the final and got broken twice before he broke again at 5-4. Close to another major choke. Courts must be very slow.

Nieminen comes back from *0-5 to *4-5 and then loses serve :smash:

:haha: :haha: :haha:

The end was so funny. Hard to say who wanted more to lose!

The last deuce before the end the line referee called out a Koubek's volley. I thought he would start shouting again  But the umpire made an overrule.

Koubek :yeah:

Damn it Jarkko! This would be the time to hire a coach. His military service begins after Paris and that doesn't make things any easier. This might mean I have to pick up my racquet again and rescue Finland's tennis!

the season can't end soon enough for Jarkko :o

He saved 4 or 5 mp's with some terrific play and then made a horrible mistake on the last one, that sums it up pretty well. Jarkko needs to regroup during the off-season and have a fresh start next year.

What a comical ending, disappointing for Jarkko, but I am not going to complain about a Koubek win.

That final set was hilarious, but thankfully Koubek crossed the finishing line in the end.

Jarkko seems to be a bit of a mp saving specialist. I remember him saving something like 6 mps against Ollie Rochus in Auckland last year.
