Well, the topic was very stupid so I decided to write a message in similar style to it. I'm a huge Federer fan and I find it funny the fact people hate him because he's the most talented sportsman I've ever seen. I hope he wins 25 GS, and I do believe he can achieve it. I mean he has to win 3 GS the next four years ( which is possible, though hard ) and beat that Margaret Court record ( afaik it 24, so he needs one more, but it's possible )

zcess81
10-15-2007, 12:05 PM
in that case I withdraw my statement...I thought you were one of those guys that likes to post insanely illogical statements about federer, but I was wrong, so sorry about that. but you'd be surprised how many people make stupid comments like "he's lucky to win 12 slams"...some people are just incredible.

I did notice a lot of haters around here. The thing is there are a lot of players I do not necessarily like, but not liking somebody because of whatever reason does not mean I don not appreciate what they are doing and how good they are. Not liking is one thing but making stupid statements about players you do not necessarily like (federer, nadal, djokovic...whoever!) will only make you look stupid.

If you win a slam you're a champ in my book...no such thing as transitional champ. You're either a champ or not. Otherwise players like Safin, Ferrero, Moya, Roddick etc were all transitional champs. Kind of disrespectful (considering number of AMS titles they won), don't you think? You don't have to be dominant like Sampras or Federer to be a TRUE champ. Sampras, Federer, Agassi etc are extraordinary talents that don't come too often.

A clear example of one of those Rafa "Fans" who will only root for the player who has more chances on beating Federer, the moment Nalbandian had these fans as well, back then in 2003 when Nalbandian owned Federer head to head and threads were all about how Federer was never going to beat David... fast forward 2 to 3 years and those fans jumped the bandwagon to Nadal and will keep doing so until Roger retires with 50 straight wimbledon titles

:p You were a little late with that. This post elsewhere (does it have a familiar ring?) beat you to it :haha:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A28004591

"Robby Ginepri has been in appalling form for a long time, but he seems intent on arresting his slide in Madrid this year. The American fended off the dangerous Jurgen Melzer in their first round match, with the result that he has an unloseable second match, the hopeless club hack Roger Federer awaiting him. It is likely that his next two opponents would, like the Swiss, also be defensive baseliners in the shape of Canas and Ferrer. An on-form Ginepri, playing his best attacking tennis, would be favourite to see of these players, and the American must be rubbing his hands in glee.

The Madrid crowd, however, are an unforgiving bunch. They relentlessly booed Tomas Berdych last year after his display of gamesmanship against the great Rafael Nadal, and seeing such a miserable defence of his title from Federer will surely irk the volatile Spaniards. Madrid is a prestigious tournament which deserves better than talentless clowns like Federer winning it: a fourth successive woeful defence of his Masters Series titles will enrage the Madrid faithful and see Federer permanently banned from the tournament. The least the Swiss should do in honour of winning a tournament so far above his level is provide a brave defence of his crown; losing 6-3, 6-3 to Ginepri does not constitute said defence"

Sure it was - especially since every single match Federer plays in mediter trumpets how at every single round, Fed will lose. Check out BBC's 606 board if you want to see the full extent of his daily prognostications. Oh and of course, he also consistently predicts that any time Federer loses, he will never ever win anything again :haha:

Only people living in the kingdom of the blind would deny the irrefutable methods
that has made me what i am.

It has been proven yet again, by the miserable failure of the transitional champ in defending yet another masters title this year. The reputation of all these distinguished tournos has been tarnished for ever by the one dimensional talent of the arrogant swiss and his pathetic attempt to prove a point by taking cruel advantage of an underdone CANAS.

I said he is not going to defend the title and he didnt. The players i named are more by probability. I would not name Nalbandian ever beause you can count on him to choke when it matters. If this was a GS final, he would have surely lost. He is and will be a disgrace to the atp tour with his incurable choking tendencies.

I hope real contenders like Gasquet will step up in the new season to take up the legacy of Sampras. Sampras meanwhile is waiting to give a few handy lessons to the swiss pretender.

Poor mediter! He's going to implode the day Fed gets his 15th slam --- if not the 14th :haha:

Wasn't Canas on your list of those that can stop Federer? Didn't you know he was 'underdone' and would be taken the advantage of back then when you made your prediction?

Funny you picked out Gasquet to take Samprass' dubious legacy. Of all the new contenders, his game is closest to Fed's.
