hi neely,
does it look like there'll be rain on and off for the day? have they said what the forecast is?

Neely
06-01-2004, 12:04 PM
BTW, Micheal Stich and Martina Hingis are commentating this match of Capriati vs S. Williams for Eurosport Germany... :)

hi neely,
does it look like there'll be rain on and off for the day? have they said what the forecast is?
sorry, didn't listen to their forecasts, but the sky still looks very cloudy, not the best weather if you ask me, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more showers this afternoon

harvey
06-01-2004, 12:10 PM
and bad for henman too - needs hot faster conditions...

Neely

Neely
06-01-2004, 12:50 PM
if everything went normal we would see the first men's matches soon!

but now look at that shit, Serena and Jenny not finished yet and Amélie and Dementieva also still to be played :banghead:

Tricky_Forehand
06-01-2004, 12:57 PM
I guess it was too good to be true to ask for the entire 2 weeks to go by without a mjor rain delay

ESPN is showing Sharapova's match now and doesn't plan to show Capriati's until 9 AM (but it wll be LIVE according to them  )

It's looking less & less like we'll see Guille & Carlos even if they do play today. ESPN wants the viewers to think only women are playing today. Nice how they respect our intelligence :p . I wonder how many more times they'll drop the ball.

Hope the rain stops soon

Dirk
06-01-2004, 01:16 PM
I know Katherine. For them to not even show the Women live is really bad. I actually wanted to see that Jen and Serena match. I have not seen any of Moya. I guess I will have to hope he makes the semis so NBC is forced to show him.

Neely
06-01-2004, 01:26 PM
I neither like ******* Serena nor ******* Jenny baby... but If I had to root for somebody I'd go for Jenny.

I hope Serena, Venus, Jenny & Co get whipped when Kim returns from her injury and when Justine gets her form back :p

Not only will there not be an all-Wms final [since they were in the same half] but no all-Wms SF... well done, Jen-Jen and Anastassia!! Woo hoo!!

Now for Amelie... why does Elena have to play so well this tourney...

ALLEZ, MOMO!!

VAMOS, CARLOS!!!

VAMOS, CHELA!

Raul-Lopez
06-01-2004, 02:46 PM
1-0* Coria

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 02:46 PM
3 unforced erros in just one game for Moyá... this is not the way you'll beat Coria! Please try to be solid and don't make so many ue's. Apart from that, play as usual, and win!!

Raul-Lopez
06-01-2004, 02:46 PM

Raul-Lopez
06-01-2004, 02:48 PM
*1-1

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 02:49 PM
1-1, that's good. but Moya only played one point with first serve out of 6 (coria, 6 out of 6).... and I believe the serve will be one of the keys of the match, basically Moyá's serve.

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 02:50 PM
and spanish television with a documental.. here only soccer the rest is garbage

Totally agree. But didn't they say yesterday on spanish tv (La 2), when they finished Lopez-Kuerten match, that they were going to show Moya's match today?? Aaarghh...

Raul-Lopez
06-01-2004, 02:51 PM
2-1* Coria

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 02:53 PM
Coria's average first speed: 147 km/h!! Now I understand why he has socuh a big percentage of first serves... it's ridiculous, so slow!

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 02:53 PM
and it's now 0-30 for Coria as Moya doesn't get any first serve...

Raul-Lopez
06-01-2004, 02:53 PM

Yashirobai
06-01-2004, 03:02 PM
why did it have to rain??

anyway, from the two points I could see (2 points only!!! can you believbe it??) the first one was perfectly played by Coria and in the second one Moyá did a silly thing...

Why would they show any number of matches from the past week? That would just be too damn logical

What the hell is it with Henman and rain?!!! Why is it that EVERY time he is gonna play a really huge match, the rain comes? I have never understood why the rain targets him at Wimbledon and now it is targeting him in Paris! I am losing the will to live! :banghead:

Anyone here with ESPN surprised by what they just did?? :fiery:

For those who don't know: They switched coverage from ESPN2 to ESPN and they started that coverage where they began with Venus this morning. I'm glad Anastasia won but the match wasn't a damn classic!!

So they are not showing any of the men's matches today? Just more repeats of the Williams sisters? This is unreal! Why are they so against men's tennis?

They showed about five minutes of Guille & Carlos and taled about it being much antipated then cut the coverage off for the all-important Sportscenter

I think it's because they spend so much time pumping up women's tennis as being the best that they don't want the casual audience to realize that the men's game is where the best Tennis is at. Even without the Americans :p .

But just when I think coverage can't get worse here, they pull something new. I was giving ESPN the benefit of the doubt that they knew how important Guille vs. Carlos was to Tennis fans. Silly me. This is the same network that keeps telling us that Capriati hasn't played yet.

I can't believe ESPN is reshowing the women's match rather than the live Coria/Moya match! If you are as upset as I am, email them at espn.com.

On a happier note, eurosport.com has live audio of the Coria/Moya match, at least for now. They mentioned they would be going to the Henman match at some point.

You guys won't just accept the fact................MOYA is DONE !!
did I say something else?

I hardley think Moya needs to be ashamed of losing to a guy like Coria on clay. It was a hard fought match on both sides. Coria was just in the zone.

poor Carlos, I felt sad for him because nothing was working in his game   (no serve, no forehand, everything he tried, Coria had the better answer)
but it was his own fault, he could have gone up 2-0 sets but didn't

well done, Coria, Congrats!... a match without any weaknesses and errors, this match could have been hardly played better

but Moya losing in straight sets is not surprise. at least not for me. he lost the last 9 sets against coria who obviously is a class above him.

Henman is playing freakingly good!!

Don't put this on Moya, another player would have been out with no more then 5 games with Coria in that level.
When Moya served for sets, Guille had 4 winners and 0 UE.

TB records 2004:

Coria: 12-2
Moya: 12-2

These guys play great when it mtters.

Well, hi to everyone, im new in this forum :worship: , i have been reading it for a while and now im ready to post!

I saw Coria- Moya match, i tought it was a great match! (it would have been better without all those rain interruptions  ) Moya really fight, but couldnt do anything. Coria is in his best moment and he is unbreakable!!!
Im from Brazil but i live in Argentina, my favourite player used to be Guga kuerten :wavey: , but im following Coria now and he is awesome, I see tihngs in him that i havent seen in other players....he has the magic to be better than anyone else
He of course  will beat Henman, thats much more easier than Moya (who I respect a lot) who-by the way- is a hunkieee :D  , and a great player, the only one who could complicate things for Coria....well....he didnt.........
Poor Henman, he is going to loose really baaaaaaad

LOL you are NOT SERIOUS WITH THAT, or are you?? :rolls:
These rankings often don't mean anything, especially on clay.

Or would you say that Schüttler (ranked #7 in the world) should beat Nadal (ranked #49) on clay because Schüttler is ranked higher?

Nadal would be the clear favorite, couldn't be clearer as Schüttler pretty much sucks on clay whereas Nadal is an awesome player on almost every surface, especially clay.

I hope you see that rankings don't mean anything and why it can be considered as a suprise that Chela lost to Henman on clay. :smash:
