Awesome display Tojo!!

Blake was 6-5* 40-0 up in the third set, had one more MP in that game and one MP at 5-4* 40-30.

Blake took a injury time out in the second set when having some back problems. He recovered though and all in all it was a great match.

ToJo is back in the top again. I didn't see it coming. I can honestly see him breaking back in the top 20s next year if he can stay motivated.

Magnus Norman has done some wonders with the AO champ from 2002.

Now go crush Dr Ivo in the final!!

He makes a final after a while and that in front of his home crowd :yeah:

Classical Blake - he is still so weak in these situations. He can win these kind of matches only against another chokers like Mathieu, Calleri or Del Potro.
BTW, after winning 7 tie-breaks in a row, now lost 4th cosecutive.

Blake was classy in the post match interview.

James loves to waste match points, he tasted it at the US Open (3 mps) and today (5 mps):o...

Congrats to Tojo, awesome fight in front of his home crowd, hopefully he can take the title now!

I wonder how James feels now, so many wasted chances, not only those 5 mps, but all those bps.

5 match points including 0-40 at 5-6 on Tojo's serve. At least 2 were 2nd serves.

Then a total capitulation in the breaker after dominating the set.

Actually I haven't seen ToJo mentally stronger before!

This is the 4th time when Blake lost a match after wasting 5 match points - previously against Grosjean, RRH & Karlovic.
Blake is a special headcase - that's a fact.

Yes, being #1 Ivo fan I was pulling heavily for Blake. Ivo/Blake (or Ivo anybody) would be a close match and I knew Blake would get some sweaty palms in the clutch moments (Ivo time). ToJo will have the fans behind him in the final too, so that was another reason I wanted Blake. Of course I will be pulling for Ivo, but I wouldn't mind Ivo losing to ToJo as much as if he ended up losing to Blake. ToJo could use the win, especially in his home country and being 32 years old now, and coming back from the serious eye injury.

All 5 MPs were on Tojo's serve though and this is indoors so...

Typical Blake. Sees the finish line and gags it away. Even in his best tournament. What a joke.

I've just reminded that ToJo won once a match in Stockholm after saving 5 match points - it was in 2000 whe he beat Bjorkman 6-7(6) 7-6(7) 7-5.
Bjorkman was leading 6:1 in the 2nd set tie-break. Also 4:1 (40-15) in the third, so it was more amazing comeback by ToJo than today.

If you click the back button and read your previous post maybe even you can figure it out. The "big deal"-smiley is a hint...

Are you a mind-reader? I meant that some people are overreacting about Blake choking just because it was 5 MPs. :)

Except for the fact that Blake beat Johansson in the first round here last year, and that Tojo's DC win over him was in Gothenburg, of course. ;)

Where's the J-Block when you need them, James?;)

Let's face it: the man is simply a mental midget. And I pray he does not make it to the Masters at the end of the year. Because, let's face it, he certainly does NOT deserve it.

Johansson said. "It's not everyday you turn around a match from five match points down, especially against a player like James."

:rolls:
It's inversely. Blake is the easiest opponent to beat despite having 5 match points.

Great day, we get a Karlovic-Tojo final instead of a Haas-Blake final. Sometimes its not bad thing having no access to coverage.

Great choke James, cost me a potential win of £1k.

I would wish for your spine to be broken, but there is no spine there so that be worthless.
