Djokovic def. Chela 6-3 5-7 7-6(2) [saves 2 match points]

Wow, what a brilliant match. Djokovic led by a set and a break, but then Chela played some unbelievable tennis. The number of times Djokovic applauded Chela's shots told you just about everything. Probably some of the best tennis I've seen him play on quick surfaces, he was hitting absolutely huge at times.

Chela had 2 match points at 15-40 on Djokovic's serve, then Djokovic had 0-30 on Chela's serve at 5-5 but neither could convert. Djokovic was just too solid in the tie break.

Fantastic match :yeah:

Chela had a great chance in the first MP after Djoko's drop volley

Djoko gripped on his serve in the final set and when it went to the TB there was no doubt of who would win it

Good clutch volleying from Nole on the 1st MP.

Those Serbmugs who follow Nole around the tour are a lovely bunch of mugs arnt they? shouting during Chela's serve, clapping his faults... shouting again after the Ump told them to be silent about 5 times (and Novak telling them as well) .

great people to have around the tennis tour these Serbs

Ah, ok. :) So what did he say?

the interview was pretty short because he mentioned he's very tired.

he said that it was a very difficult match and that chela is a good player (the usual stuff.. blah blah)

that he has seppi played 1 time and that it was very hard (he won 7:5 in the 3rd) and that seppi seems to be in good form.
then he was asked about the injury timeout and he said that the pain wasnt very big it was more a precaution

i think thats it

What would make one think that the individuals that were trying to put Chela off were infact fans of Novak, or even Serb, eventhough Novak has a great following from his countrymen in Vienna. Best supported player at this tournament infact. Surely his fans would not work against his interest. It sours the victory a bit, must be said. Could be a couple of people that had a few too many on a Friday evening or something a bit more sinister such as the Sun piece a few days back. Anyway, great stuff from both players. That surface is excellent.

Your favorite player lost and you hate the other who win that's okay but saying Serbs cheat, that's another thing and how is that not racist?

Plus how you know they don't need the timeouts? You clearly say it "appears" nothing serious is wrong with them which means you you don't know how they feel. I'v seen hunderds of players taking timeouts and it doesn't appear anything is wrong with them and all of sudden they leave the game. How you explain that?

I was replying to his post and giving an exemple on how you can accuse every player of cheating. I heard Nadal has some sort of ritual that really get on nervs of other players still, it doesn't make him a cheater and certainly doesn't change the fact that he's the second best player in the world.

But these two can't get it... Djokovic = No.3 which is fully deserved and Tipsy won Stepanek because he was better. But some can't get that and keep saying they cheat. Well keep using this nonsense while Serbs are winning :nerner:

They're maybe taking timeouts to prevent injuries or because they are really injured? There's a french proverb for it "il vaut mieux prévenir que guérier" Tipsy couldn't play because he broke his leg or something two months ago, is that faking too?

Other players take timeouts too and I never really feeled to count them because they are there for some reason. It's just the saddest excuse to find to bash a player.

As for Stepanek he's not exactly adversed to those kind of tactics and, even though Stepanek is a better player,Tipsarevic surely didn't win the match because of them.
Now I'm going to stop arguing with you because you obviously can't do anything other than gloat over a stupid DC tie or call other posters racists.

You're just repeating what you said before and I clearly told you that some are accusing Djole and Tipsy as cheaters and don't deserve their wins. I was arguing with them not you but if you want to defend them don't tell me please that when you call someone a cheater means he fully deserve his win.

Also, comparing players who use timeouts with others that not and how many of them they use and in what purpose, you can't really do a comparaison and if you do, it's purley subjective and makes no sense.

It's funny because I responded once to all the trash talk of TMJordan and especially Jaap which I see in every Djole's thread and guess what are they doing? Reapeating the same shit, day after day, thread after thread and you tell me that it's the best I can do? Because I told them once what they are? Wouldn't it make more sense to tell that to them? You can't stop contradicting yourself can you?

Disappointed that Juan couldn't pull of an upset.. but considering it wasn't clay, a set and a close match shows just how good of a season this is turning out to be.

Onwards and upwards for Djokovic.. :yeah:

Chela is better on slow hardcourt than clay.

True, but I think he would probably stand his best chance of beating Djokovic on Clay [although still a pretty slim chance..].
