yes, and Chile got it cheap, because Argentina could have easily in the 2nd half scored a couple more goals, and then we're talking about a 4 or 5 goals difference, but it wasn't, so Chile has to think NOW in Perú, in that is a MUST win.

I think Ecuador's level is certainly in a drop, you can see the results of the last Copa América.

and btw, Venezuela is not same as in the last qualifies, this team is definetly a thread now. Ricardo Paez (Venezuelan Coach) named his team as the Best Venezuelan Squad ever to play in a qualify.

Did you see Rey's goal? :worship:

Even then the Quito altitude should have been enough not to lose this game, but Ecaudor peaked at the last WC.

I wouldnt mind a Tie between them, however for Venezuela is better a win By Brazil, since we all know they're qualifiyin for sure, the less points the other contenders get, the best..

In my opinion at the end of 2009 this will be standings:

1. Argentina
2. Brazil
3. Paraguay
4. Venezuela
5. Colombia Or Uruguay

Those last five minutes :tape: What is going on with our defense? Our defenders, specially the lateral ones, sucked. Uruguay didn't have a great variety in their attacking play, but everytime its midfielders threw a very predictable pass to their strikers, our defense was very slow gaining position. Our attack and midfield was ok though. Now onto Paraguay. Big match.

Because the South American qualifying is stupidly long ;)

European teams don't start qualifying until next year.

[QUOTE=adeegee!.;6281774]Because the South American qualifying is stupidly long ;)

SA WCQ is only 6 games more (or 4 in one case) than what Euro sides play for Euro Championship qualifying, nevermind adding on the WCQ games.

SA doesn't have qualifying for Copa America, since there are only 10 sides, and these WCQ games are absolutely vital to build team cohesion.

It's a joke that SA is going to split back into groups of 5. It means that in a 4 year span aside from Copa America and World Cup, a SA side can only play a maximum of 8 competitive games.

Whereas a Euro side would be playing 20 or more (then again, you've got alot of shit teams in Europe).

European teams don't start qualifying until next year.

For the reasons above.

If South America didn't start WCQ now and waited until next year all the top European clubs would be throwing their toys out of the pram as usual because nations in South America dare to call up their best players.
