Looks like this forum has been sleeping a bit lately :) I thought it was time to open a new thread for Juan's European indoors tournament tour.

I have been in Stockholm until Wednesday and saw Juans first round match and his doubles match Monday night. Juan is playing very well at the moment and seems to be very happy to have his friends with him in Sweden, too :)

I will try to post some of my pics of Stockholm this weekend.

Birte is still in Stockholm and will be cheering extra loud for Pico tomorrow. I do think he has a good chance to beat Tommy. VAMOS JUAN!!!!!

Unfortunately Juan lost to Tommy Haas in straight sets. Birte said Tommy played too well and Juan made too many mistakes. Anyway, still not a bad tournament for Juan :)

Next stop is Madrid. Juan plays Igor Andreev in the first round and if he wins he will get the chance to play Haas again in the second round.

VAMOS JUAN!!!!!!

Juancito had a hard match today, but managed to win :)

The result was: J. Monaco b. I. Andreev 6-7, 6-0 and 6-4.

Juan plays Tommy Haas in the second round. Let's hope the result will be better than last week. Vamos Juan!!!!

Good win for him today on a highly ranked player. Nice to see him continue to do well in the best year of his career.

Yes I agree, it was still a positive week for Juan. No shame to lose to Fernando. The result was 4-6 and 2-6.

Good luck to Juan next week :)

Juans first round opponent in Paris is Jarkko Nieminem, who lost in the Basel final today to Roger Federer. He played well, it will be a real challenge for Juan. Good luck Juan :)

Unfortunately Juan lost 4-6 and 4-6. No shame for this, since Nieminem is in a great form as he showed last week. This is the end of Juan's fantastic 2007 season. I bet he is already in the plane flying home ;)

Hope Juan enjoys his well deserved holiday. I can't wait to see him back on the courts next year :)

No, I don't think so. If he will be at the event, he will be there to cheer for his friends who play there and need support :)

Btw, where is Reiko? Still in Japan?

I was in Japan for about a month - went to watch Japan Open. It was a very good tournament this year but we missed Juan a loooooooooooot! Hope he will come back next year.

And, I met Juan in Paris, though very short. He was satisfied with what he had done this year but said that he was tired. No wonder - he had been working hard enough and winning a lot.

I saw his match against Nieminen. Maybe it was the fatigue or the surface, but he did not seem comfortable at all. His brilliant footwork was not to be seen. He had to struggle but then he switched to another game plan - only, he could not execute it very well.

This year Juan seems to have mastered hard-court not to mention clay-court. Indoor surface can wait for another year.

Have a nice off-season and go for more in 2008!

I hope Juan is enjoying his well deserved holiday :)
