What's goin on with Rafa?

He withdrew from the Bangkok to rest his knees another couple of weeks. Nowadays he is training in Madrid Arena, at the venue of Mutua Madrilena Masters. I hope he is 100% healthy, but I donít believe heís 100% match fit and have no ideat what to expect from him. Itís difficult to play a tournament like this without the best conditions, no?
With regard to the rest of the spaniard armada David Ferrer looks on fire, both Feliciano Lopez and Tommy Robredo look in a good shape, Carlos Moya can be a little tired.
What do you think about Rafa and his fellows?

Rest up Spartan, and keep resting. Rest until 2009.

Better than being 37 and coming up with comebacks like that.

Nothing's up with Rafa. No one thought he'd play Bangkok. In fact he was talking about his next tournament being Madrid almost immediately after the US Open. But they didn't officially announce his withdrawal until the last minute. Probably so they could keep selling tickets on the notion that he'd be there. But skipping Bangkok and starting again at Madrid was the plan all along.

He's saying that his knees aren't bothering him. He's not match fit, no, but he had to stop training completely for over two weeks to give his knees a break. He'll probably make it to the quarterfinals or so, and I'd be pleased with that result.

Rest up Spartan, and keep resting. Rest until 2009.

2008 RG and Wimbledon would be a good place to beat up on the Ego King.

Your heroes time is up clown.

if you want rafa to rest just because you dislike him, i can understand, but if you are just afraid of him beating your idol, then i am quite surprised coz this is way too coward .....

Nah, I'm totally confident that the Ego King, err Roger can easily defeat the butt picker errr Rafa on any non-clay court.

if you are so confident, then why to want rafa to rest? aren't you got more joy when seeing rafa beaten badly by roger? if he is to rest, no joy for you

Indeed, you really got Mr. FedTard_2007 pinned down here...

I have no doubts that skipping Bangkok was the plan right from the start. I'm sure Raf and his team will make sure he's ready for Madrid - or at least make him reach his most optimal form possible, as the problem with his knees is of course no fluke, but could become a serious problem if not taken proper care off. Hope he'll be able to make a good appearance in Madrid, QF or something the like would be fine with me. Vamos, Rafa!

Mowgli will have his usual QF or worse at Madrid. Then a RR exit at the Masters.

Rafa is taking time off, to give drug companies enough time to develop a new line of undetectable steroids.
