Typical of the Fisherman to donate a double fault late in the 3rd set TB. Ljubo didnt lose serve at all :)

oh thank you so much Ivan. Fish and his arrogance needs to be knocked down a few pegs by a real player.

what the fuck were you thinking Ljubo?

losing a set to Fish is just abysmal

Seppi might have a chance tomorrow

should have been much easier, but a win is a win...
the stats weren't all that close and, despite the close scoreline, ljubo won about 15 points more

Ljubo will not defend this week.

Fish does have a big serve. Not that surprising he pulled out a set.

In his previous match he suffered his first break of serve in Vienna, today he lost his first set. Doesn't bode well for the next match, sadly. ;)

Ah so close for Mardy!! Good on him for taking him to 3 sets though, Ljubo certianly isn't the player he used to be though, maybe if he tried to grow his hair it might change his luck, is he actually bald or does he shave like andre? :p

Hey you all,Fish has a big serve, and both players played solid.Ivan is just gaining his indoor form now,he will play better in next matches :)

No way is Ljuba truba winning Vienna this year.

After painstaking analysis and factual research I have come to the irrefutable conclusion that his chances of winning are, approx.

8.74 +- 1.19%

So, there definitely IS a chance.

Edit: I forgot the 'irrefutable' bit, my bad...

never in doubt. indoor king is back.

fish doesn't have big serve. (his first serve is solid though.)
his game is kind of mixed up.(he uses S/V, stays at the back go for winners strategy, volleying is mediocore.)
fish is kind of average player.(he doesn't really have big weapons at all.)

Apemant's #1 law of serve dynamics: every decent server becomes a big server if Ljubo is on the receiving side.

I mean, I like Ljubo but he's just useless returning any quality/fast 1st serve.

Kinda disagree. Fish is a big server, and he has good volleys. He's just slow and has a ridiculous forehand.

Ljubicic is now 27-20 in the deciding set tie-break (all levels).
From active players only Moya (33), Karlovic (32) & Carlsen (28) have won more deciding tie-breaks. From non-active players also Rusedski, Rosset & Larsson are better than Ljubo in this department.

2000 Marseille as well Ducky :D

3 times Fed did it to him (05 Rotterdam, 06 Shanghai) and TB's between Fed and Ljubo is 11-2.

annoying ATP.. when i typed Ljubicic, now comes up an Ivan Ljubicic (2) as well.

another one :scared:

Tie-breaks in the deciding set are the Croatian domain... Ivanisevic has 24-20 record, so he's in the Top 15.
Actually it isn't surprising because all the best Croatian players have great serve which allow to hold service games comfortably in many matches.

Ljubo just needed the match practice, he isn't going to lose his Vienna streak to Fish.

For sure, probably helps that he likes the tournament, the surface and the venue.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he defended his title. I mean I like Seppi and all, but he will need to return very well as he can and Ljubo would need to be around 45-50% 1st serves for him to have chances of winning this match.
