I don't know, it seems like he gets Really Tired when he has to play a lot of matches as he will have to in order to win there. :D

But it's a difference to play best of 3 matches until the final, so the amount of matches shouldn't be that much of a problem ;)

It's really to early to predict the outcome of Shanghai. Let's wait first who will qualify for the tournament beside the players who already made it. Then it depends on the draw and of course how the other players perform.

Ask the question again when Novak reaches the final ;)

Burrow
10-10-2007, 07:18 PM
Im not sure he will even get to the final, he might have to face, Davydenko or Blake who he hasnt competed against yet, and somebody like Fernando Gonzalez who may qualify, he has had difficulties against him in the past, allbeit the most recent last year.

It's way too premature to call him that way. He's not 21 yet, and so far his career is no worse than that of Lendl. 6 titles already, 2 of them AMS. If he wins TMC NEXT year, it will practically be eerily similar to Lendl's.

I believe (and it's obvious) that the winner will be either Roger or Novak or Nadal (in this order). Novak plays better than crippled Nadal at this moment. I really hope that Nadal will be healthy and 100% for Shanghai. It will be very interesting to see the final draw. I really don't think other players can win. If I have to choose someone after Roger, Nadal or Novak it would be Roddick.

Better yet... Blake and Berdych qlf and Nadal has them, as well as Djokovic, in his group :D

Roddick is a mug.

They would qualify as 7th and 8th, so impossible for Nadal to draw both of them.

As for the thread question, the answer is most probably no.

MrChopin
10-11-2007, 03:04 AM
I don't think so. As people have already mentioned, he has yet to be tested against Davydenko and Blake. Admittedly, Blake is hardly in TMC at this point.

Further, Roddick was hardly in form for Montreal. Given his play against Federer at USO Q, I think it would be a coin toss if Roddick plays his best, especially on fast indoor.

And of course, Federer's performance at TMC '06 was arguably his most consistent string of great matches in the past few years. The fact that Federer played his worst match of USO 07 and still beat Djokovic in straights also doesn't bode well for Novak.

If Nadal is healthy, he still poses a threat as well, especially if he ups his game from the poor hardcourt season he's had thus far.

So if Djokovic should happen to dodge bullets like Blake and Davydenko, and not fall to Nadal or Roddick, he still has to beat the man. His USO cake draw wasn't a sign of what he'll face on his way to a TMC victory, so that doesn't convince me either.

Bottom line: he still has a way to go before being an expected hard court finalist at events with top 10 in his way. He could win it, but I'd say his chances are slim. If Federer plays like the form he found during indoor last year, the answer is "no."

ezekiel
10-11-2007, 03:23 AM
most definitelly he is winning it or at least a final . Only thing that may prevent him winning it is because it's still "new" so he has to adapt . I like his chances though and MC is essential in his quest for #1 so that's plenty of motivation

Funny, declaring Nole to be the favourite for TMC when he only has one year of experience indoors. At least wait for the two coming masters, it is clear that he can play very well indoors but it is also clear that outdoors hard courts are better for him.

The act? THE ACT? Are you saying what we see of Djoko isn't real?? Are you saying he's had surgery to look more like Dustin Diamond? That he's basing his "personality" on Screech? That's what it seems like you're saying.

This is huge.

You are too literal and taking this way too seriously so I will just say that he is real and loves to act . He resembles anyone from Henman to Screech but that's where it ends, he is his own person

That's the point: any fan of he sport knows about the YEC and its format whether they "get coverage up here" or not. After the slams, it's the biggest tournament of the year and has been for almost 40 years.

I know it's playoff style and that's all. No , I never paid attention to it because it's bad timing , not covered at all in the media and definitelly is not a 5th top tournament as of now for me at least. It's a good idea and should be high and exclusive obviously. I am more of an nba fan so I am busy then and I rarelly cared for other players that much. But please don't let that offend you in any way , I am so sorry that I even asked a question ;)

...and Farenhajt with his racism against Scotland

Baby, no racism there, only pure facts. (I do respect Scottish achievements in history, but tennis isn't one of them, neither will be until some still unforseeable future. I also do respect Scottish people in general, but just can't bring myself to respect individual rotten apples, mental cases and/or suckers.)

Moreover, Scottish lot here is the most vocal (and most persisting in being very vocal) against everything connected to Djokovic (with yourself being a cheerleader), so I really must try and balance the things out, don't I?

As for facts mentioned above: Murray is just somewhat upgraded version of Gasquet - in the sense that he gets his grip bit more often than the French - but overall he's too much of a sucker to be a top 5 material. What's my mission here is to keep pointing that fact to you in order to tone down your expectations from the poor chap and prevent huge disappointments in the future. You see, I care for your mental well-being, just like a true friend. :wavey:

many more than just '2 scots' bash him, but.... when you are a top 5 - you get bashers so stop whining.

Nole is easy to criticize for nearly anyone in MTF because A)his mouth B)his parents C)his bending of the time out rules D)his retirements in Grand Slams E)his hair F)his stupid fake friendship with Sharapova. G)he looks like screech H)his new beard I)his handbag J)his impressions. K)he hasnt won a Grand Slam like Andy and Jamie Muzza :o

i'll leave it there for now :p .

Baghdatis won exactly the same "slam" as Murray, a year earlier, and what's the worth of that today? :haha: As for Jamie, he didn't win any slam - Jelena just let him share the cup she won herself. (She had to obey the rules of the doubles, can't blame her for that.)

As for your other reasons - well, they are extremely in tune with your general level.

Your lack of tennis knowledge shows you must be a queen of the pasies (Gasquet) fan.

Which just confirms that Ezekiel only cares about Djoko and not tennis. The best part was the fact that after admitting that he had no idea what the format was he still predicted Novak to win and got offended that people thought his opinion wasn't worth much :haha:

If Djokovic wins half the titles Lendl won by the time he retires he would have been very successful.
If he wins 1/3 of the titles that Lendl won, he will have had a great career.
