The schedule of play for tuesday has Coria vs. Moya on Lenglen, not Chatrier??????

Ummm,, are the french on crack??? This is a monster quarterfinal and they're putting Chela-Henman on the court central, neither of whom are French.

I don't know who's slipping money in whose pockets, but there are two big benefactors from this schedule...Coria and Henman.

We prefer Henman :p
The crowd pisses off Argentinian and spanish players maybe they want to see attack games ! ;)
(and I don't know if Henman already played on the central court this year so it's the moment )

Coria is toast. Mal predicted he would win I'd say that is the kiss of death. :(

It's okay, Ferrero survived it last year. The best usually do. Just another hurtle to overcome that determines if you are a real champion or not. ;)

I like your way of thinking!

Playing on Court Chatrier is a boon for Timmy though. I don't mind Coria being on Lenglen. I think he likes both the courts.

a disgrace :fiery:
no chance to see this on Brit ES as well :fiery:
choking French :fiery:

might be better for Carlos ;)
it would have been even better on a smaller court
so Coria cant run down all Carlos' shots

Yes. I think it is clearly to favor Henman. I think that the organizers have a better idea of what is popular and what the crowd wants to see more than the people on this board do. Court scheduling is just something you can't get too caught up in.

lol, chela is seeded so high as well! wtf is going on?
its sad enough the continious riding of tim by the british, please french dont start it too!

05-31-2004, 05:44 PM
coria - moya would be worthy of the final too! so i dont have a clue why tim is on centre?

It makes no sense, no matter the way you look at it. By ranking, by titles won, by how good they are on clay, by the fact Moyá is a former RG champion... it is definetly a better match, theorically, no doubt, Moyá-Coria than Chela-Henman.

The central court is quickler than on the lenglen, so yes maybe they want to advantage Henman. Understand us, we didn't see an attack player in final for a while !!!!
Hehehe, French who advantage British, it's not often ...

coria and moya are supreme champions and will have sf/probably final on the central court, and coria has been on centre for most of the tourney!!!! henmana nd chela have not!
i think chela and henman should get 1 day to experience the centre court after working theyre ass's off on the small courts to get to such a prestigous stage of a GRAND SLAM

Coria and Moya are even on clay. Both have won twice against each other.

Maybe the slower Lenglen court favores Moya more than it does Coria because Coria has beaten Moya on a faster surface.

Anyway, I'm very nerovous about this match. Moya is a formidable opponent for Coria.

Why are these 2 men's matches even played on Tuesday? I think all 4 men's QF matches should be on the same day because then on Wednesday there are only 2 singles matches.

Anyway, putting Moya/Coria on SL is definitely odd, though maybe it has to do with TV or something??

:worship: the French. Aw come on guys! Let Henman and Chela have their moment on Philippe Chatrier - after all it is certainly likely that Henman will never reach this stage of the tournament again, being realistic.

Besides, yeah the Philippe Chatrier court will favour Henman and he may actually pull off a shock win. Coria and Moya should be grateful for the other court anyway - it is slower and if Henman can win on it TWICE against a partisan crowd TWICE then it is good enough for them.

Also, i disagree with whoever it was that said that Coria's match was the better match to watch - I would be willing to bet that that match is one way traffic in Coria's favour. I think Henman's match will be closer, and "prettier" to watch.

Well, I would have thought any sane organiser should've put the Moya/Coria match on Chatrier ... it's the match that should be the REAL final!!
But it won't make any difference to my TV viewing here in Oz. - which is NIL, yes, NADA!!! There is no free-to-air TV coverage of the French Open in Australia this year! Can you believe it? (I have already posted stuff about this on the Horribly Disgusting thingy, so I'd better stop now)
Anyway, if Lenglen is slower, it might be to Moya's advantage then ... VAMOS CARLOS, beat Coria this time ... then meet Lleyton again in the final and beat him too!!! (and make up for that Sydney 'Clayton's' final [injury] you should have won in January!)

P.S. It would be funny if Hewitt reached the final and only Pay TV-ers in Australia could see it .... hmmm, who do I know with Foxtel who will let me sleep over tonight??

slower court will help Coria as it will slow Moya's shots down and allow Coria to get to them

Vamos Carlos :) just dont be Careless today :fiery: or you're going home Carless :p

As long as Moya is patient which he is he will have the edge. I'm expecting a great match. Moya will come to the net to finish off points if needed.

Since Coria beat Moya on hardcourt, it seems that Coria is able to play Moya well on a faster surface.

some hard courts these days are slower than clay courts :o
