concerning King of Queens now... well, who is it now?
Okay, Andy was it last year, but there's some serious competition this year with Lleyton playing well so far and having won the final in Queens in 2001 and 2002 (both times against Henman :rolls: )

Maybe Lleyton wants his throne and the crown of Queens back this year?
Andy, you'd better be prepared for this!!! :drive:

Lleyton is getting his game back somewhat, but he isn't as good of a grass court player than Roddick is. People that serve/volley will give Andy the most trouble, and that's pretty much henman. I don't think there's another serve/volleyer as capable as henman to take out Andy. He better be prepared :rocker2:

LCeh
05-31-2004, 09:51 PM
I feel a lot of people are all of a sudden playing very well. Marat is playing well. David is playing well. Henman is playing a lot better than before. Hewitt is getting back his old form. All of them would pose big threats to Andy and Roger. This should be a very interesting grass season.

LCeh are we turning you into a Roddick fan :scared:

Lleyton is getting his game back somewhat, but he isn't as good of a grass court player than Roddick is.
partially agree, partially disagree:

1.) Yes, Roddick must be favored because his serve is simply one of the best two or three, personally I think maybe even the very best on grass. Yes, Roddick plays more and more serve and volley.

2.) We have no comparison between Andy and Lleyton on grass, but nevertheless, I strongly disagree with you categorically saying that Lleyton is a worse grasscourt player than Andy. Somebody who went an outstanding 27-1 (only defeated by Escudť, Hewitt won two titles in two weeks before as this happened) when playing matches on grass between Queens 2001 and Wimbledon 2002, beating guys like Henman (three times), Sampras, Federer, Rusedski, Ivanisevic and many more on his way to victory can't be a bad player on grass, can he? :retard: :retard:

Not only that, but Andy and Lleyton have still yet to play together since they last met in 2001. That was too long ago and Andy has improved his game so much. I'm dying to see a match-up between these two. Andy needs to get a win over Lleyton.

star

The Andy/Lleyton match up is an intriguing one.

Lleyton has been on the top of the world and floundered last year. He seems to be finding himself now. I'm thrilled to see it.

Manisox, Guga is and always has been my number one favorite ever since I laid eyes on his fabulous backhand. :)
Coria is number 2 now.
I've always got clay courters as my top faves. I can't help myself. Maybe someday that will change....... hmmm Edberg was the exception.

Then everybody else is clumped up together and it's hard for me to say who I like best. I've got my Swedes, Andy, Lleyton etc.

me too... that would be an awesome match.
As Tangy said, Andy didn't meet Lleyton for a long time and you can't say that this h2h is too significant after such a long time.

Sure, I don't see Lleyton yet as strong as at his peak, but at least he is winning matches and is even posting some good results on clay the last weeks.

Yeah Neely, I know Lleyton went on a tear on grass in previous years and won Queens in 2001 and 2002, and won Wimledon 2002, but that being said, I still think Andy's the much better grass court player than Lleyton is. I'm simply talking about how their games suit grass. Just because Lleyton has the numbers doesn't necesarily mean he's the better grass court player:p

and LCeh, I didn't know you had liked Andy before;)

and star, I really only got one fav in Andy, and I manage:p Mind you i am EXTREMELY hard to please  and I can name you my fave players all in one hand, and that's even including the WTA Tour :scared: I do have some minor faves, but I don't post in their forums or cheer them on, just like to see them when they get some air time on tv:cool:

A little blurb from the Sun-Sentinel:

Following his second round defeat at the French Open, Andy Roddick of Boca Raton, Fla., flew to the Bay Area, where he and Andre Agassi got on grass courts near coach Brad Gilbert's Marin County home and started getting ready for Wimbledon.

Agassi was just as anxious to get back to work. He went out in the first round to an unknown Frenchman. Roddick will fly to London Wednesday and begin practicing at Queens Club in London, where he will play his only lead-up to Wimbledon, beginning Monday.

Andy is seeded No. 1 here. He gets a bye in the first round; his first match will be with either van Lottum or Kucera.

He looks like he has a good run until the semis where he could meet up with Agassi or Hewitt and then Henman or Grosjean in the finals.

Aw, thanks for the compliment tangy, but you know that even in my most erudite phases I cannot hold a candle to the intellect and knowledge displayed by you and your cohorts in this very forum. Out of curiosity, where was it exactly that you saw me say star had Duck Fever? I don't seem to recall it, in fact all I remember is suggesting that both you and her knew of only one player who could make you both go weak at the knees and his name was the Great Dave, but evidently that was a remark made in jest. If I did say she had Roddick on the brain, I would take that statement with a pinch of salt - I do the same for most of your comments, after all, so the least you can do is return the favour. :)

I'm sure there are others besides me who find it ironic that you're waiting for a snide remark from someone else, rather than beating them to the punch. Yes, Schalken's knee jerks have the benefit of being distinctive, but Roddick's springy knees surely have a far greater impact on you.

RODDICK WARY OF 'AWESOME' HENMAN

Andy Roddick believes Tim Henman was "awesome" in Paris and can win Wimbledon.

The British number one reached the semi-finals of the French Open after showing he can master his least favourite surface - the clay of Roland Garros.

And American star Roddick was hugely impressed with Henman's achievement.

He said on BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme: "Tim was awesome, and considering that clay isn't his favourite surface, it was even more impressive.

"But he is one of the best in the world and nothing he does really surprises me anymore. He certainly has the game to win Wimbledon."

Roddick believes Henman has improved over recent years and added: "He doesn't really have any holes in his game, he has just been a bit unfortunate at key moments in his career.

"He lost to Pete (Sampras) a couple of times, and last week he faced (Guillermo) Coria, who is probably the premier claycourter in the world, so it is just a case of getting over that one player who is playing great at the time.

"But he does have the game to succeed now almost anywhere."

Roddick, who will be one of the main contenders at Wimbledon where he reached the last four in 2003, went on: "I am not sure how relevant the French is to Wimbledon as far as Tim is concerned. If he had lost in the first round in Paris he would still be one of the favourites for Wimbledon."

Federer, Henman, Roddick are my top picks going in. I would put Andre in as a dark horse. I don't see him having issues with the grass like he did with the clay. "It was my first week with my new coach (Brad Gilbert), but probably the thing I was most proud of was the players I had to go through to win that title (Greg Rusedski, Taylor Dent, Agassi and Grosjean).
"Im super excited about 2004. Queen's is a great tournament in its own right and its an awesome warm-up for Wimbledon."

Isn't that too bad that he can't get a Halle draw?
It's a given that he'll lose early here and in Wimbledon.

TUESDAY PREVIEW

Andy Roddick v Karol Kucera: Roddick leads 2-0

For Andy Roddick the Stella Artois is a clear reminder of where, mostly, the rhythms of the game began to run his way.By November he was world No 1,a status he still held at the end of the year, after winning his second title of 2003 here at Queens Club.At this tournament he came through a sequence of tests against Greg Rusedski, Taylor Dent,Andre Agassi(after saving a match point),and then Sebastien Grosjean to win the title.Doubtless fuelled by the fact that he served at 149mph here he went on to make the semi-finals at Wimbledon where Roger Federer ended his charge. But no one halted Roddick at the US Open.Karol Kucera also had his best year in 2003 as he headed towards his 30th birthday in March and can always be counted on to make his skills produce dividends, especially on a fast surface.

Verdict: Top seeded Roddick to start off eager and ambitious.

Thanks Mrs Guga :D

A bit from Andy's post match interview, and the audio files are up on the SAC site:

There were no problems for top seed Andy Roddick however, as the defending champion opened his campaign with a straight sets victory over Karol Kucera. Roddick fired 13 aces en route to a 7-6(4), 6-2 win in 1 hour, 18 minutes, and will now meet either 1994 champion Todd Martin or Croatia's Mario Ancic for a place in the quarterfinals.

"It was a little weird in the first set," said Roddick. "I wasn't hitting the ball real clean. I was able to get through it and came up with some clutch shots in the tie-break. In the second set, I felt like I was hitting the ball a lot better. I felt if I could have combined the way I was serving in the first set with the way I was hitting the ball in the second, I would have been a lot happier, but it's a process and I'm looking forward to the next match. Grass suits my game. I'm really excited about getting on the grass. It's a fun transition for me."

On his friend Ian Flanagan, who defeated Mark Philippoussis on Tuesday, Roddick added: "We became pretty good friends in the last couple of years in the juniors. We've kept in touch and he's been over to see me in the States. When he was in the qualies here, I was hoping he could get through the first match, then he won that, won the next and got through to the main draw. Now he's beaten Philippoussis, so I was real proud of him today. He's cocky enough but in a good way."

Andy Roddick v Mario Ancic: First meeting

Andy Roddick still heads the field as the Stella Artois comes down to the last sixteen players with just five seeds still in contention, three of them in Roddick's half of the draw.Roddick,as defending champion, has just one match under his belt and now moves on to an opponent who already has a couple of wins.Mario Ancic is 20 and Roddick is 21 and in terms of achievement Roddick,of course,is some way out in front having won his first Grand Slam last September in the US Open and gaining world No 1 status last year as well.Ancic comes from the Croatian tennis school headed by the former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, with whom he has been working since hewas ten,and has few concerns about playing in big arenas and against big players. Which makes today's contest more than intriguing.

Verdict--Roddick to keep his title bid on track

First update from Brad in a while...
----------
6.9.2004 -

After Paris we spent a few days up at my house getting ready for London. Andy practiced with Wayne Ferreira, hit with Andre a couple of times, and ran the hill. One day after practice Andre asked Andy if he was going to play doubles at Queens. Andy said no. Andre then said to him ďYou want to play? The Kid seemed a bit surprised but totally stoked with the offer at the same time and responded ďWith You?, Hell Yeah!" (All together now..... aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww!)

Itís been awesome spending time with both Andy and Andre. Weíve been hanging out, going to dinner together. Zack is loving it too, but he is highly allergic to grass, so itís been tough for him to stay out for the duration of Andyís matches here at Queens.

Thereís something special about Queens for us. We started working together a year ago here and Queens has a good vibe to it. Iíve even busted out my Metallica lid in honor of the occasion. Itís always nice to return to the scene of the crime, itís a special thing.

Andy got back on the board with a win over Kucera. He now goes up against the big serving Ancic. He feels comfortable here and is looking forward to a good week. Andre had his chances yesterday but lost a close one in 3 sets.

Henimania is starting up in London. I really love reading all of the crazy papers over here. Its great way to get the day started. I get up real early over here and after my morning coffee I grind it out hard in the gym. Then I like to have breakfast while Iím enjoying the paper.

I gotta give big props to both Gaudio and Myskina. I would never had predicted that either one of them would have won it. To be honest I was really surprised when Gaudio came back after being down two sets with Coria serving at 4-all and 40-love. But thatís what so great about sports you never know whatís going to happen.

Hmmm... with Henman out, Ferrero out, Andre out, Coria out, the title should be Andy's... or did I miss someone?

Who is Andy playing against next round?

Deboogle!.

winner of Dupuis/Srichaphan, both good grass players. Andy beat Paradorn at Wimby last year I think. Then likely Hewitt in the SF... so the title is definitely not his, yet.

COACH THE KEY TO HOT ROD CHALLENGE
By Phil Casey, PA Sport

Andy Roddick was honest enough about his claycourt skills to admit to distinctly-limited ambitions heading into this year's French Open at Roland Garros.

Simply getting past the opening round for the first time in three years was all the former world number one was hoping for, while a best-ever performance of reaching the fourth round was seemingly the last thing on his mind.

All that will change when the last, stubborn remnants of clay have been shaken from his tennis shoes and the red dust of Paris exchanged for the green lawns of London.

And Roddick will arrive in SW19 in genuine expectation rather than hope of adding a second Grand Slam title to last year's US Open victory.

Ironically, the 21-year-old has his first-round exit in Paris last year to at least partly thank for his subsequent triumph at Flushing Meadows.

After being beaten in four sets by Armenia's Sargis Sargsian - Roddick won the first set on a tie-break but won just seven more games in losing the next three - the American parted company with French coach Tarik Benhabiles and began working with Brad Gilbert.

Andre Agassi's former coach has been instrumental in the improvements in Roddick's game, particularly in adding a useful backhand to the already-potent weapons of his serve and forehand.

The effects were felt so quickly in fact that Roddick claimed his first grasscourt title just a few weeks after Paris, defeating Greg Rusedski, compatriot Taylor Dent and Andre Agassi on the way to victory in the Stella Artois Championships at Queen's.

That saw him installed as favourite for Wimbledon, where his second-round rematch with Rusedski made the headlines more for the Briton's foul-mouthed outburst at the umpire than the undeniable quality of Roddick's tennis.

It proved Roddick had come a long way in the 12 months since their previous clash at Wimbledon, when it was Roddick who had been on the receiving end of a 3-0 drubbing in the third round.

And although he ultimately bowed out in the semi-finals to eventual champion Roger Federer, there was plenty of evidence to suggest it was only a matter of time before the title would be his.

It was, of course, only a matter of three months before he was to claim a first Grand Slam title, coming back from two sets down in his semi-final against David Nalbandian before blasting Juan Carlos Ferrero off court in the final.

It is that occasionally-overwhelming power which remains Roddick's greatest asset, and the man with the world's fastest serve will put that to good use at the All England Club despite the apparently slower balls and courts now in use.

But that power has also allowed Roddick time to concentrate on the aspects of his game which needed improvement, and he has therefore developed a much better all-round game.

"Brad told me to take more chances on return games," said Roddick. "He told me 'you're going to hold serve 90-something percent of the time, it's ridiculous that you're playing 'bump 'n' run' tennis on somebody else's serve'.

"That's one of the first things he told me and it was good to give me that freedom to attack on the returns, because often you only need one break to take the set, especially on grass."

And there is apparently more to come.

"I think so," added Roddick. "I'm improving a lot of aspects right now. But if I was to sit here and say I was completely 100% happy with any stroke, I think I'd be lying to you.

"Even my serve can improve. You can always hit a higher percentage. You can always get something more on your second serve. Obviously, that's my best shot and I definitely appreciate it. I'm not going to sit here and say it's not a good shot. But you can always try to get better."

Off the tennis court, previously Roddick found himself the centre of attention due to his relationship with the singer and actress Mandy Moore, attention he was clearly not always comfortable with.

And the unassuming Nebraskan is equally uncomfortable with his new status of hero after helping fellow guests to safety during a fire at his Rome hotel in May.

Roddick helped several people escape the blaze by shepherding them onto the balcony of his room, telling his mother over the phone, "I'll be the last one down," when firefighters arrived.

But he admits to being embarrassed by the attention the incident received, particularly when three hotel guests were not so fortunate and lost their lives in the fire.

"I am a little bit (embarrassed), because you don't do stuff like that to garner attention. Out of respect for the people who did not survive, I've chosen to talk about it once and then try to pay my respects.

"I'm trying to be the same Andy. It's easier said than done, obviously. In the aftermath of it, the more I thought about it, it shook me a little bit. But I had some good time at home to kind of regroup and my focus is definitely back on tennis."

He was complaining about, of all things, Ancic's grunting. All in the heat of the moment and so on, but I think he could have found something else equally (yet less potentially offensive to his opponent) trivial to talk about if he wanted to let off some steam. Well played in the end, though, his return game on grass really has come a long way since Wimbledon 2002.

Yea star, that's why people like Roger and Tim give him a lot of trouble on grass and other surfaces, even people like Mardy, Taylor, and Todd have given/can give him trouble. The only difference though is that Ancic serves REALLY well and has a better serve than many of those guys and especially today, he served really well. But anyway I totally agree with you, especially considering how much better he can volley now than a year or two ago. It'll be interesting to see if he (hopefully) does it more against P-Dorn (who doesn't come to net nearly as much, right?). *sigh* We really should be Andy's coach huh;)

Stella Artois Championships: Friday Preview

By Barry Newcombe

Andy Roddick v Paradorn Srichaphan: Roddick leads 3-1

Andy Roddick, as defending champion, is within sight of second title but would be the first to recognise that there are some demanding obstacles ahead, starting with the quarter final in the Stella Artois against Paradorn Srichaphan, Thailand's best player. Top seeded Roddick and seventh seeded Srichaphan have met four times before with Roddick winning three matches including one on grass last year when he won their fourth round match at Wimbledon in four sets. Roddick also won matches in Indianapolis last year and again in Washington in 2001. Srichaphan's lone victory was on indoor carpet in Paris in 2002. Roddick describes his task here as "winning matches to set the tone for the rest of the grass court season" and there is no doubt that with his pace and placement he is hitting many of his targets round by round.

Verdict: Roddick to keep his top seeded status on a roll

It has more to do with Andy being cowardly and lazy.
He made 2 setters stretch to 3 sets all the time.
You can see what he did in 03 Houston clay event.

It wasn't only when he played volleyers. He hates to attack at every opportunity.
Gilbert can boast about Andy's physical training, but I haven't seen him practice difficult volleys, dropshots & court positioning.

Follow Don King Gilbert's teaching: hit as hard as possible, then go down 0-40.
He looks like Pillsbury dough boy with a racket.

Gilbert:

The Kid seemed a bit surprised but totally stoked with the offer at the same time and responded ďWith You?, Hell Yeah!"

But thatís what so great about sports you never know whatís going to happen.

well here's a new update

6.10.2004 -

We saw two contrasting styles of grass court tennis today. Mario served and volley on every point and Andy served and stayed back on every point. (well, WHY Brad, WHY!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!!!) Andy was really tested today but got the win in 3. Next up will be Srichaphan. Andy beat him in the 4th round at Wimbledon last year. The key for the kid tomorrow will be to take care of his serve. (is this not always the key for Andy? Had he not been broken 9 times he might've won his RG match  ) I was Joe-Fan today. After Andyís match I hung out and watched Hewitt followed by Sricaphanís match. (well a pat on the back for you doing your job!!!!!)

Thereís nothing like winning...that breeds success. (winning breeds success. holy shit you don't say!!!!!!!!!!!) Before last summer Andy was not a huge fan of grass and now heís into it. Early on in their careers Pete and Andre were not wild about playing on grass either. But after they each won Wimbledon they began to appreciate it.

I donít know why the Pistons didnít foul Kobe at the end of game two, losing that game was like losing a match when you have 6 match points. They should have gone for the foul, and made him shoot 2 from the line. Iím predicting a big win for Lakers tonight 103-85. Lakers take the series in 6.

Fans want him to win tournaments.
If he loses, it shouldn't be because of no self-respect & fear.

Champions care about all tournaments & don't give up just because they don't like playing in a tournament.
Champions prepare well & don't distract themselves.
They don't repeatedly applaud opponents' shots & humiliate themselves as well as allow others to do so to them.

Enough with lame illnesses & goofing around, acting like he's stupid.
A loss should be because the other guy wins the big points.

Why does everybody think that Andy will "roll over" Lleyton? I don't see that happening. I think Hewitt is very dangerous for Andy. They haven't met in years but Hewitt owns him and he can return Andy's serves. He has the psychological edge over Andy. Safin and Haas pulled off the trick of beating Andy when they came back after a year off even though Andy's game has improved. I don't think this is going to be an easy win for Andy at all. Hence, my excited yet nauseous self. :p

Record-Breaking Roddick Reaches Stella Semis

LONDON (Reuters) - Andy Roddick smashed his way into the semi-finals of the Stella Artois championships on Friday, destroying Paradorn Srichaphan and cracking down the world's fastest serve along the way.

His record-breaking 153 miles per hour (246.2 km/h) pile driver -- one mile an hour quicker than his previous best -- came at the beginning of the second set as he walloped the Thai 6-3, 6-3.

"It was against the wind so I am pretty surprised," Roddick smiled. "I didn't think I had that in me.

"I didn't realize I had done it until the crowd started cheering and Paradorn smiled too."

Tournament officials were still to ratify the record struck at 1-0, 15-0 in the second set.

Standing between Roddick and the defense of his title, however, is Lleyton Hewitt and the Australian extended his phenomenal Queen's Club record earlier in the day.

Seeded sixth this year, the three-times champion beat in-form Russian Igor Andreev 6-3, 7-5 for a place in the last four.

Hewitt has now won 21 of his last 22 matches on the west London grass courts and battled past the in-form Russian in 79 minutes.

"He goes for his shots and is playing really well," Hewitt said. "I am pleased to get a shot at another Stella final.

"It doesn't get any easier, though... although I am winning and feeling like I am getting better and better each match."

Hewitt has beaten Roddick on all three previous occasions the pair have met, but they have not played since 2001.

Roddick said he was looking forward to the clash.

"Yeah, we played three times during my first year on tour and we had some pretty good matches," said the American who in the intervening years has won a U.S. Open crown and reached world number one.

"We play a pretty contrasting style so it should be good to watch. I am feeling good out there and am looking forward to playing him."

In the bottom half of the draw Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean -- the last man to have beaten Hewitt at Queen's -- plays Czech Radek Stepanek and Slovakia's Karol Beck faces Lee Hyung-taik of South Korea.

I see a LOT of differences between Andy's problems with Marat and Tommy and his history with Lleyton. First of all, many of Haas's wins (3 of 4 I believe) are on clay. 'nuff said. Plus Andy was nowhere near playing well in that Houston final. His form is much better now, dare I say even good ;) Second, the matches they played in 2001, especially the USO and also the FO since he retired when they were split 1 set each, Andy knows he could've won and he knows how much better he is now than he was then. Has Hewitt really improved, though? I'm picturing them as two lines on a graph, just visualize it :p

I don't think Andy will roll over him though, if he wins I think it'll be a tough 3-setter and hopefully if Lleyton wins it'll also be a tough 3-setter:)

Roddick To Meet Hewitt In Queen's Club Semifinals
By Adrianna Outlaw, tennis week
06/11/2004

Wielding a wicked serve that blew through blades of grass like a weed-wacker in over drive, defending Queen's Club champion Andy Roddick blew by Paradorn Srichaphan, 6-3, 6-3 to surge into the Stella Artois semifinals today. The top-seeded Roddick ripped a record 153 mph serve, which was one mile per hour quicker than his previous world-record, in the second game of the second set.

Roddick's resounding victory sets up a semifinal clash of champions between the reigning title holder and the three-time King of Queens Lleyton Hewitt. The sixth-seeded Australian scored a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Russia's Igor Andreev to register his 21st triumph in his last 22 matches on the historic lawns of Queen's Club.

A year ago, Roddick launched a 149 mph serve against Andre Agassi in his Stella Artois semifinal victory over the 1992 Wimbledon winner. Today's serve surprised Roddick himself, who said the sound of the crowd rather than the smack of the ball off the strings signaled he had approached the record.

"It was against the wind so I am pretty surprised," Roddick said. "I didn't think I had that in me. I didn't realize I had done it until the crowd started cheering and Paradorn smiled too."

Sustaining his history of success in this tournament has Hewitt smiling as well. The 2002 Wimbledon winner feels comfortable on this court and is looking forward to his fourth career clash with Roddick. It is a classic confrontation between one of the most powerful servers in the sport and one of the game's most consistent returners.

"He goes for his shots and is playing really well. I am pleased to get a shot at another Stella final," Hewitt said. "It doesn't get any easier, though although I am winning and feeling like I am getting better and better each match."

Hewitt is undefeated against Roddick, but the pair have not played since their controversial quarterfinal contest at the 2001 U.S. Open when the fourth-seeded Australian outlasted the young American to reach his second straight U.S. Open semifinal with a 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 triumph in a three hour, 40-minute match ending at 12:43 a.m.

Serving at 4-5 in the final set, Roddick hit a crosscourt passing shot initially called in by the linesman, but chair umpire Jorge Diaz over-ruled it and a livid Roddick lashed out in a minute-long tirade. "Are you an absolute moron?" Roddick screamed. The Boca Raton resident lost his composure and ultimately the match as Hewitt broke him in the game.

"Do I feel that call had a lot with me getting getting broken in the last set?" Roddick said. "For sure. But that was a pathetic call. No umpire in their right mind would make that call. If he can say that, he's a liar."

It was Hewitt's third straight win over Roddick. He beat Roddick in the quarterfinals of Key Biscayne and the third round of Roland Garros three years ago. Both the reigning and former U.S. Open champion are eager to resume their rivalry in Saturday's semifinal.

"He handles my serve better than anyone," Roddick said of Hewitt. "we played three times during my first year on tour and we had some pretty good matches. We play a pretty contrasting style so it should be good to watch. I am feeling good out there and am looking forward to playing him."

Well... I'm not so much a fan of his tirades, but this one in particular was, well, pretty much his worst one ever. I didn't see the match til about 6 months ago and it still made my stomach churn. It was really bad, not one to applaud.

But, you're welcome :) I think Tennis Week puts out among the best articles on the net.

well yes and no. I mean the fact that he knows damn well the ump isn't gonna change the call should make him think "ok maybe I should just shut up and try to calm down" but on the other hand I understand that Andy's the type of person who needs to let out anger. I'm the same way. i'm REALLY bad at bottling things up inside, so I just have to explode. He can't change his personality, but the problem is that when he explodes, he sometimes can't recover (especially when he's serving). He's better but still does it here and there. but just trust us, that one was the worst and it definitely cost him the match. That's not to say he definitely would've won had that not happened or if he'd been able to maintain his composure, but yeah. I mean he was only 18 and much has happened and he's grown up a lot in every sense of the word but I keep he keeps growing up where it comes to freaking out on the umps. I like now that sometimes he just stands back and takes a deep breath for a minute. IMO doing things like this, if he can, are much better for him. Sure some of the things he says are funny but I think he and his tennis are better off if he can just get over it and not let it bother him.

ugh can we talk about something else, I don't want to think about that USO match again :o

So, here's another cool pic of Andy from today. *still wishing he'd shave*

Oh goody, my little tennis doughboy found a home! Sure andyrox, you can use it as your av. It should work, just right+click on it and save to your desktop. :)

If that doesn't work, I can try e-mailing it to you, which is what I had to do for Naldo's av.
