Sounds like old times!

Be interesting to see them play on clay. I bet Borg would take him out on that.

That advert still makes me laugh.

Nice to see such respect for two players who made the game more popular than anyone out there today has or ever will.

JMac :worship:

I see McEnroe still owns Borg in the tie-breakers.

How was the match so close?

McEnroe plays almost as regularly as an ATP player and he needs two breakers to beat Borg, who doesn't care one bit about tennis?

Qute from article: “He’s a freak of nature. He’s still so fit and I was getting really nervous at the end because it’s a huge crowd here and any time I play Bjorn you don’t know you’ve won until the end.”

OK, I checked the website, there was a bit of a crowd. But what kind of crowd? 0.1% tennis fans, 99.9% directors, board members and other business interests. Average income probably >EUR 500,000. There may be some money in the Champion's tour, but it's a business circus with very little competitive merit, and that's why you rarely see it mentioned outside of the ATP homepage.

I was just watching the clip of the 1980 Wimby final. I love watching them play each other. I'd have bought tickets just to see Borg play live.

I would have loved to be there live!

Mac has been playing on the champions tour for a while whereas Borg hasn't been playing as much competitive tennis. Now that Bjorn seems to be committing to the Champions tour it will be interesting to see the upcoming scorelines. I reckon he'll beat JMac pretty soon. Am just disappointed haven't been able to see him play yet. Is he that dull to watch as some of the posters think?
