Highly entertaining match with many ups and downs.

No breaks of serve for the 1st 8 games and then 4 breaks in a row as Verdasco failed twice to serve the set out.

Verdasco takes an injury timeout for his thigh and it restricts his movement initially, but he is fighting hard, hitting some great shots and some classic misses and takes the 2nd set.

Both were getting shocking calls and getting irritated with the antics of each other.

Verdasco hitting off paced serves and sliced backhands in addition to huge amount of clean winners. Berdych was striking the ball very well when he wasn't getting pissed off with the line calls.

In the 3rd set Berdych got a break for 2-1, then Verdasco levelled for 4-4. Verdasco saved 3 break points at 5-5 with clean winners.

Well done guys.

Expected scoreline. Now, can he avenge his Toronto 06 defeat? I say no, Richie isn't that tired

Too bad the stream fucked up at the end. Cause I couldn't hear what they said at the change of ends.

Verdasco fought so hard and hit so many great shots and credit to Berdych for keeping a high level throughout the match.

Time to take out Gasquet.

What a match! Too bad one of them had to lose here, because they both played great tennis!
Nando with an injured thigh, but he kept fighting like a lion :worship:

Verdasco hit around 38-40 forehand winners and around 28 backhand winners in this match.

Bad moment for Fer, coming so close yet again. But it sounds like he didn't crack under pressure like usual, and was rather outplayed. Am I right in saying this?

This one could have gone either way and Verdasco is not the guy who want to close out a set serving for it, he is more likely to break to get a set and that was what he did in the 2nd set.

When Berdych served for it at 0-15, he was in control of the rally and went for a forehand drop shot that hit the tape and bounced on his side.

I think 3 or the 4 breaks of Tomas were handled on df´s by Verdasco, looks like some things will never change

Tomas will need to play way better than this to win tomorrow, hope he proves me wrong but I think Gasquet will take him out

He will prove you wrong, but Verdasco had enough chances to take this match. I mean verdasco serving to close out sets as is as bad as Andreev in final set TB's.
