Gasquet in straight sets.
Berdych will be way too tired ....and even if he wasn't,Gasquet is still the better player

Anyway,i guess that's a crucial match for both as they both want to make the Masters Cup at the end of the year.

Gasquet will win because his QF match was quicker and easier while Berdych's QF match was very tough and long and I also just think that Gasquet is a better all around player than Berdych. When Berdych gets frazzled he's more likely to hit more unforced errors and for his game to fall apart.

I like Gasquet to win, but Berdych can trouble him deep flat forehands and force Gasquet to play too far away from the baseline. I hope Gasquet wins in straights.

Now that they've both reached the semis where do they both stand in the Race?

Should either player win the tournament that player will at least be in the Top 8 of the race right? Regardless of whether Robredo wins Metz?

First serious obstacle for Gasquet since Cincinnati, so he may lose, but I've recently watched highlights from their only encounter and if Richie's able to put those crazy-angled backhands in, he'll take it. The only thing that matters then is a number of sets

How can he win with such an ugly forehand and his ugly serve ???

His serve has improved.
And about his forehand.....well somehow,he manages to win despite it but i guess it won't be enough against the likes of Federer or Djokovic.:o

His serve was never ugly. Just lacked speed but he improved it. His fh is still ugly and he needs to fix that asap. :help:

It's ugly(and awful) mainly in transition play.
When he goes for it,funnily enough,i find his forehand very good.

Man,seing the results of this poll so far,you would never believe that Gasquet is ranked 3 places behind Berdych!

Well let's see now, he had the same ugly forehand and serve when he almost destroyed Berdych in Toronto so why would that derail him now from winning or playing well against the same player he had no problem with before?

His serve has never been ugly, it needs improvement but it's not ugly. No one with an ugly serve can outace Roddick at Wimbledon, which is what Gasquet did.

One problem with his fh is he never hits it flat; he just whacks it and the ball comes to a high bounce like a moonball. It's just very ugly and weird.

Can someone tell me what is the coach change for Gasquet? I heard that he hired Yannick Noah, what about his current coach Eric what's his name?

gasquet's serve speed isnt the problem.

his fh is not that bad. Its a pretty decent shot that he can attack with.

His returning is crap though.

and I'm not, because he would be forced to adjust to completely different time zone, and there's more points to win in Tokyo. He must take advantage of his killing spree to keep up his Shanghai hopes

Interestingly enough, one of Gasquet's best days with the FH was against Berdych the last time (only time) they played in Canada. He really used it well to attack and come to net behind and finish with the volley. In fact, he did that well thoughout that tournament.

many criticize gasquet forehand but actually he did quite well with it in mumbai and in tokyo too.
For example in his match against sela,he hit more fh winners than bh one whereas his backhand is his best shot.

He can hit some decent fh when he put some real physical engagement and dicdate the point. Tomorrow he will have to be agressive cause berdych shots are very flat.

No place for defense tennis tomorrow and he knows it.

Allez!

Birdbrain would be a better description for the mentally fragile player that is Berdych. I apologise to any Ornithologists for insulting birds.

Thats why he cracked all those fh winners against Roddick at Wimbledon and had more fh winners than bh winners in his last match. His serve has improved.

And you are talking like Nadal has the best serve.
