Nice win for Dudi :yeah:

Del Potro retired after being broken for 3-5, I don't know why he couldn't finish the match, I hope it's not a serious injury

Juan

I knew something was wrong, he just went downhill during the second set. I really hope it's not anything serious.

But I'm not sure

Score board showed 5:3 in the third for Dudi, Dudi had the break and was serving for the match, 15:0 for Dudi and then the match disappeared from the SB.

So, I hope I won't be eating my words, but if Dudi won it is a great win for him, and nice way to continue his Davis momentum.

Are you 100% sure about that Labamba?

How come he retired at 3:5 in 3rd set?
Why he didn't just stayed for three points and lose 6:3.
It is disrespect to the opponent.

Of course only if the injury was not a bad one!!!!

He learnt some tricks from Sidorenko...

22/2007 ATP French Open (FRA) Clay Werner Eschauer Alexandre Sidorenko 6-3 3-6 6-3 5-4 ret. First
Retired on a match point...and the day after playing the double ahahhaha...

This is like the millionth time Del Potro has retired this year. Del Potro should have finished off this match unless if he was badly injured and risking further injury. Especially since he was receiving serve, he could have easily walked from side to side.

I'm probably being too harsh on him because of his history of retirements though.

I don't know what went on, but I've seen him sulk like a little kid (and give in) before - Notts Open QF vs Karlovic.

He is still young, but he needs to grow up a little.

Very professional approach to retire at 3-5 down in the deciding set ...
If he was that "Injured" why even play that long ???

Del Potro loses tight match in almost every tournament lately.

I don't like players retiring at situations like that, even if they have a bad injury I'd have thought they could just let their opponent serve 4 aces.

Good win for Dudi though :yeah:

YaY Dudi!!! :woohoo:
Great win and comeback!!! :worship: :)

But it's really disrespect from Juan to retire on the last game..Just play 3 more points...(Unless it's really something sirious..)

So he DID retire. What kind of poor form is that? To retire when the other guy is serving for the match?

Wierd to retire at that point for JMDP, unless he had some injury that absolutely prevented him for staying on court an additional 1 minute. Good win for Dudi to back up his excellent DC form.

How many times has Del Potro retired from a match this year? It seems like every other loss is a retirement.

This Sela guy doesn't stop amazing, even though this victory doesn't look that impressive. Saw him against Safin @ AO and he's doing well, apart from very shitty serve (maybe he improved in that part, dunno)

Or Levy

I think he improved the mental aspect of his game most of all, and his serve looked pretty solid to me during AO, it will never be great. He's short. 1.73

yeah this one isn't surprising at all given the Dud's recent form.

still a good win for him, though

Now, I would like to see him win his next match, which is very winable - and go up against Richard, it would put him well into the top 100.

It seems like he didn't retire, scores now say 6-3 to Sela in the 3rd.

Apologies to JMDP if this is the case.

I hate when someone retires game or two away from the set

If he isnt seriously injured, it is like "I dont want to loose (I am not man enough), so I will retire" attitude

It will be interesting to see what JMDP does next season...
